Selina first thanks the kobold for his aid, then turns to Nacesh in response.
"Mister Nacesh, I'm quite sure that you would sink too if you were basically wearing your weight in forged metal." For emphasis, she shakes the chainmail she is wearing, demonstrating how thick and heavy it even sounds. She follows Betimi southwards, knowing that her companion needed backup, but also that she had an ability to see in darkness that Selina did not have.
The sorcerer follows Selina close enough to keep his voice low while responding.
"My point was, if Tomeal were half the size he wouldn't weigh more than a kobold, even in armor, so he could take the bridge without risk of falling"
As she creeps south Betimi looks over her shoulder at Nacesh and speaks just loudly enough to be heard.
"And just what would Tomreal do alone on the far side since the rest of us would still be too heavy? Might I remind you the kobolds are waiting on the far side hidden to attack with missiles and flaming oil.."
Taking the Kobold's advice, Betimi switches directions and leads the group to the south along the shoreline. When she reaches the most southern wall and looks west, she spots another less traveled path that seems to lead to the North West just as the kobold described.
When Giley mentions wooden boxes, Tomeal points a little to the east. "Are those the wooden boxes you're talking about? Why the sudden interest in these?" You can see Five 5x5 wooden crates.
[OoC: Inside the purple circle is what Betimi currently sees. Inside the Black circle is what Jonath can see. Anyone without darkvision can only see the path in shadowy light. Everything else you can see is what you've explored so far. ]
Gilley points back toward the recovering kobold.
"He said find the path to the south, in the room with the wooden boxes. If those are the boxes he meant, then there must be a path that we missed." He turns that way.
"I'll look for it."
Search [1d20+4] = 7+4 = 11
[OoC: Sorry for not being very clear but the hidden path is across the river from the room with the boxes at 26/27V. Actually you guys can't see the whole pathway so pretend you can't see past 26X.

Gilley stops and looks across the river.
"Wait, there it is. Lemme just check..."
Using his knowledge of rivers and some exploratory prodding of the riverbed with his longbow, he tries to judge how deep it is, how fast it's going, and whether a heavily armored person could traverse it safely.
Knowledge: Nature [1d20+2] = 15+2 = 17
Not at all ure of jer swomming ability, Betimi watches with interest as Gilley probes the river. In the meantime she roots in her pack and produces a large coil of heavy rope [50' hemp rope].
"Perhaps we could string this across? I wish I had a grapple, but I do not."

The spearman rolls his eyes in submission.
"So shall we wade through in single file?"
Can't believe they don't get the grasp of it, he thinks.
Just how safer it is to wade through unknown waters, all in single file than to cross the bridge, three light people first, heavier in single file afterwards?
"Let's not be hasty. Gilley, what say you, is the water safe to enter, or do we need to find another way across?" Jonath asks, not willing to be drowned or swept downriver in their attempt to cross the chasm. Though they may be in a hurry, jumping into an underground river without some serious forethought, especially with several members fully clad in weighty armor, was a poor idea at best.
