"I'll be up in a moment," Jonath calls from within the crack, there's something down here I want to take a closer look at." He squirms further down into the crevice, maneuvering himself into position to get a better look at the opening in the rock.

[OOC: When you say narrow, how narrow? Could I fit an arm in (not that I'm necessary going to reach in, but just as a reference point)? And can I tell how deep it is?
Search:[1d20+7] = 12+7 = 19]
Once his body has been pulled out of the way, Jonath investigates the thin, vertical opening.  It's about two feet long and a couple of inches wide.  It reminds you of an Arrowslit.  Peering through the hole you don't see much of anything other than another stone wall around 10' beyond the slit.

Meanwhile...

The guard looks at Selina expectantly.  "Well... Are you going to heal him?  You're a priestess of Selune so you should be able to convert spells to healing.  I've seen priests of the holy gods do it on the battlefield."
Selina peers at the guard, then raises a thin eyebrow at him. "I beg your pardon, sir. But it would appear that a healer is being told how to perform her craft." She grins a little, but she still would rather be given the time to properly prepare herself and seek Selune's blessings first. Looking at his wounds once again, she finds out that the creature had not only gashed Mardak's chest, but flailed it as well. Why was that...? She shakes her head, nevermind...first thing's first.

((On mobile. Will finish later with rolls))
Jonath's brow knits in puzzlement at what he's seeing. Was that a...hallway under this rock? He presses his head to the wall with his ear in the slit, holding still and closing his eyes to concentrate on picking up any sounds that may be coming from within.

[OoC: Parcellus Remember, I have a house rule that if you pray for a full minute while casting a cure spell, the spell is considered maximized.]

The guard watches Selina while she prepares to cast her spell...

Jonath listens to the arrowslit and at first doesn't hear anything.  He's just about to give up when he hears a faint, "Yap Yarp ..." quickly approaching the slit!

[OoC:  With your listen check, you would start hearing something about 30' away which is how fast most people/creatures can walk in a round.  So you have about a single round to do whatever you want to do.]
Jonath, quickly realizing the sound was nearby and drawing closer, darts back from the crack, squeezing himself to one side as best he can, flattening himself against the wall of the crevice and holding completely still. He hopes to be able to get a glimpse into the crack as well, but for now remaining out of sight is his first priority, keeping his ears pricked as well for any further sounds from the hallway beneath the rock.

[OoC: pssssst. .. what about the two people 5' away that are talking about healing Mardak?]

[OOC: Ah, I'd been picturing the crevice a bit deeper than that, so thought they'd be further away. This is a pseudo-edit of the above post, then.]

Suddenly realizing that while he may be out of sight and hearing, his companions mere feet above them were perfectly audible and had no clue what was going on, Jonath cups his hands and angles his head towards the top of the crevice. "Psst, quiet for a moment, please - I'll explain soon, but for now, please back away and be silent," he calls up in a loud whisper, hoping that they hear him and take heed.
Selina is just about to begin praying when she hears Jonath's whisper. She looks down, nods, then gets the guard to help her move Mardak away out of earshot. There she prays to the moonmaiden for guidance in fixing the grievous wounds suffered by the man barely hanging on. Before she begins, however, she has a thought and asks the guard to gag him in case he cries out upon awakening.

((One minute of prayer means Mardak gets 9 hit points back. You're welcome ;-).))
'Something smells like skunks ass!!...Ah hell'!!!  Mardak's eyes open and he sees an Angel.  Though having only half a pint of blood left in his body, it's kinda hard to move.  Mardak fears that if he stood up, a stiff wind would take him away much like a piece of leather flapping in the breeze.  Mardak looks around, not knowing where the hell he was or what the hell he was doing here for.
