Yeah, what Toot said is how my first DM did it.

Spine of the Cat is an awfully expensive item (12,000gp or 6000gp's if one of use kept it.) for only getting +6 to hide.  You can buy a vest that does the same thing for 3600 gp's.  It is part of a set but what are the chances of just so happening to come across another piece.  Perhaps Portho has heard of where another piece so the Vest would be such a Gold Piece sink.  A hide bonus would be something that Toot would like especially if he's allowed to wear it in his animal forms.
Oh it's hide armor, that's right. Never mind then

I don't think so.  I think it's just +6 TO hide skill.  If it were hide armor it might be more attractive to Toot even though armor is crappy for Tiny creatures.  It looses HALF of its armor bonus!!!   Angry
*dies laughing*
Spine is for small characters. Like an armor, and unlike a piece of clothing. The item has history and is not a magic item. Three price listed is is true price but lacking the rest of the set you can sell it only for what its worth is, i.e.3600/2 gp for a +6 skill item.

Did not mention but settlement gp limit is valid for selling as well. Haven't checked yet but this is a high magic rich city of 100k souls for this purpose.
Well then that makes Toot's decision easy.  With a wand of cat's grace (I assume caster level 3? = 3 minutes) and a bottle of goo-gone usable by Toot, I guess he will be taking the money.
Shape change to a small cat and wear the Spine. Tongue
Can anyone in this city create a Wilding Clasp? It's non-core but it costs 4000gps to allow you to use magic items in animal form.
We can buy magic items?  If so, Toot would like to buy a Monk's Belt.

Portho can use the force sword easily thanks to UMD +19 and having already triggered it before.  The issue where it should go to someone else is Portho would rather avoid melee when at all possible, sowiould not use it often.

But if i read correctly in Portho's hands it would be a +5 bastard sword he would have to wield two handed, with the off-size penalty

so overall a +3 attack bonus, +5 damage bonus.  that is a LOT better than my current +1 rapier lol.

Our DM approved the XXX of Alter. We must buy for you.
With +6 natural armor, medium size, and this  sword you become a very good warrior. ?
