"What the hell happened indeed."  He looks at Aaron, "Any theories on how she broke out of your paralysis so quickly? She should have been paralyzed several more minutes, but broke free when Viego.. got a little carried away there. If your boys powers are erratic, we need to know. "

"First Viego way overshot the mark an blew a hole in the wall, and then Aaron's paralysis ended way, way to early."
Not sure. Aaron answered with a shrug without looking away from the barkeeper he was tending to. Viego's lightning isn't normally that explosive, so it seems to me that zappies and faeries don't mix very well. Maybe the pain jolted her out of paralysis; normal things don't usually survive that kind of damage.

Speaking of which...

Aaron leaned back and swiveled his head around to Viego, then at Nolan. So, both of you got hit with some kind of magic. Viego here, built of "hard" flesh and tougher than a Titan, got mind-slapped all the way to death's doorstep. He waved at the body of the unfortunate soul that got his head popped like a microwaved egg. That's what happened when "soft" flesh got hit with the spell.

Not to look a gift miracle in the mouth or anything but Lady Luck must have a major crush on you sir. Glad to see you still intact.
Viego stares at the dead man for a long moment, then slowly mutters to himself "I wish I was flying, its always simpler in the air." He then waits for orders, he seems a bit shaken.
Marcus nodded, "Yea, she got me with it too.  Feels like my brain got boiled." He rubbed his temples. "It's clearing up now though."
Same, Khayman muttered trying not to think of his aching head at that moment, Any luck with the bartender?
---Nolan---

(DM - Roll Lore Magic followed by Lore Fairies and Magical Beings.)

---Everyone---

The Bartender jerks away looking horrified.  He looks around and sees the headless man still sitting in a chair not far away.  Screams, then passes out again.

(DM - Roll Detect Ambush if you have it.  Perception if you don't)
"I have no idea why it knocked me out rather than blowing my head up, nor why it apparently gave you a nose bleed Khayman. You don't have the same resistance to attack these boys have. I'm just glad it didnt pop my head."

Hey buddy, how you- Aaron frowned when the bartender passed out again. -feeling. I see. Aaron glanced at the headless corpse and couldn't help but wrinkle his nose in disgust. In the face of that kind of carnage, fainting certainly wasn't an unreasonable reaction.

We should uh...probably relocate.

---Nolan---

A couple of things occur to Nolan while he thinks over the situation.  The first was that Viego tried to contain his lightning blast, which … electricity doesn't work well in that fashion without a direct conductor.  So it basically blasted out between his fingers and the fairy looking for one.  The second thing that occurs to him, is that he likely wasn't the direct target of the spell.  The bastards whose head popped were, but he just caught the side effect of the spell.  Which is why he is basically unharmed.

As far as the fairy. She was paralyzed but by dealing damage, especially electrical damage to her mega-damage body (For the sake of simplicity, I'm just going to say that most people in rifts understand the difference between the damage types.)  Taking that damage is likely what helped her break free.  A better tactic next time might just be to have Marcus stab her in the eye with a vibro-knife.

(DM - Going to wait for everyone to roll their detect Ambush before I give you the details of what you see on that front.)
Marcus shakes his head with a grin as the man screams and passes out again. He had been conditioned to deal with such things though, so he understood how the poor bastard felt. Their training had been pretty rough until they had gotten used to it.
