Actually, Marcus, Veigo, and I should enter. Brand, his nickname for Aaron, should remain outside and on the loose. He looked from the Lieutenant to Aaron, He can then sneak about undetected, disable the Skull Walkers and still be in position to lend a long distance helping hand should the need arise.
Marcus is the strongest young man I've ever met and Veigo comes in a tight second, if shit hits the fan, those two can rack up a serious body count with their bare hands. He returned his eyes to the LT, And I'm no slouch in the bare fist department.
That leaves you in command of the pooches and the stalkers should you need to raise some hell arise to scuttle our asses out of there.
I can do a solo run sure. Might be some benefit to me going in with the group though. I'd be under more scrutiny as opposed to operating alone, but...could also get better access to buildings and infrastructure from the inside. I let slip that I'm a mechanic and they might even ask me to fix a thing or two; wouldn't be the first time. There's always something fritzing and breaking in a backwoods town like this and I bet our mysterious meat-puppeteer prefers to keep this place functional, seeing as how they haven't just murdered everyone and burnt the place to the ground yet.
"If they are possessed they will not be asking you to fix anything. Do not expect these people to act like normal townsfolk."
"It might be a good idea for you four to go in without armour, and armed just enough to allay suspicions about how you survived the wilderness. Have a story about a broke down vehicle. If a firefight breaks out, I have seen the reports, you boys are able to handle it without armour anyway."
"No offense Marcus, but you wearing heavy armour is actually comical. It is like covering a tank with another paper mache tank. What exactly is the point? Except to appear menacing.
Viego sighs, "I mean I can totally fly my SAMAS to scare them if you want a distraction. Just putting it out there." he seemed to know that it wasn't likely to be the plan, but he really liked flying.
Marcus snorts a chuckle at the LT's comment, "I like the look of it and it keeps me from running around naked. I'm hung like a two year old, so I wouldn't want to embarrass anyone."
He rubs his chin, "The ooonly thing that worries me about using the SAMAS, is the Coalition hasn't tried it already. Personally - I suspect they have and it didn't go well. I'm not sure if we really want to find out why it didn't."
"The SAMAS will be of no use here. Unless you just want to strafe the town and kill every living thing. This requires something just a har more delicate. Those are Coalition citizens down there, theyneed us to rescue them, not turn them to ash."
HA! Aaron laughed out loud. Marcus tended to be stoic and serious but when a humorous mood did strike him, he tended to have some nice zingers. We mainly wear armor to keep up appearances. People start asking questions whenever they discover that we don't bleed like the normal folk. Plus the suits have practical features: radio, environmental shielding, temperature control. Aaron tapped his crotch with a metallic thunk and flashed an OK sign. There's a separate cooling and support system down here too, keeps the testicles gently cradled and at an ideal 95 degrees Fahrenheit. It's a custom job though, just for our little group.
Anyways...so we swap to civilian clothes, take some tools, couple knives, walk through the gates as civilians and take it from there yeah? Should we say we're from the Chi Town 'Burbs? Easy to keep our story straight and it's technically true. Sort of.
What's this we shit pale face, I'm not some government lab rat who eats lightning and craps thunder, Khayman growled, I'm just the poor sorry son of a bitch who had to train your fuckin' ass. He growled something unintelligible about smarts ass kids, then began stripping off his armor, I ain't bulletproof like you three, so when the fur flies, don't be surprised if I'm jumping behind, he flicked a thumb in Marcus's direction ole pee-wee fucking Herman here.
Marcus smirked, "You can snuggle up to me Sarge. I'll keep you safe. Just don't get too touchy feeling, you're not my type."
"I will be going in with you, just compared even to the Master Sergeant, I am well aware of my squishiness. I will be avoiding direct conflict, and taking shelter if it happens. The girls will coordinate us from the APC, and be ready with the dog-boys should we need a distraction or exfil."
