Lucian looked at the sky again, realizing that daylight was quickly fading.  He rubbed his beard in thought, "Well - I'm afraid that might be all we have time for.  It's later in the day than I thought."  He nods and shakes his head, "I don't think we have time to find a camp far enough away and secure enough." He turns and looks at everyone, "Thoughts?"
Hearing Lucian, Harley stopped and turned, I just think it would be easier to defend ourselves if the little creeps could only come at us from one direction, she looked past the wizard to the monastery and gestured, we go in and find a place where we can shelter up for the night and if the vermin come creeping back, we squash them.
(01-20-2024, 01:12 AM)Lucian Wrote: [ -> ]With that, Lucian began using Prestidigitation to clean the muck, blood and gore off of everyone.  He smiled at Toryn, "Well - Not every day someone can say they were swallowed by a Warg, cut their way out and proceeded to kill the nasty thing." The wizard laughed,  "I know that's a story I'll be telling for a while."

Mm, indubitably! responded the gnome with a vigorous nod. Though I would be chatting with my dearly departed grandpappy Chungus Biggletoe, up in the fluffy clouds above right now were it not for the valiant efforts of our little troupe of travellers.

Toryn smiled broadly and spread his arms wide. I hear clerics speak of being reborn anew all the time, though I didn't expect it to happen quite so literally to me.

While the group decided on where and how to set up camp for the evening, Toryn took the opportunity to fix up Orianna's damaged shield, and check anyone else's equipment for possible repairs.

(OOC: fixing Ori's shield with the repair kit when Toryn gets 10 minutes to do so)

Even as she spoke about defending the monastery, the young woman headed toward the front door to the place, Besides, I have some skinning to do, than under her breath, and some thinking to do.
Oriana Gives her shield to Toryn to work on and soon its as good as new as he repaired the leather strap that had partially pulled loose earlier from the wolves attack.

[ooc: 20 minutes before dusk now. All wolves are skinned, bidies have been carted out of the courtyard and dumped at the edge to the forest, the courtyard has been thoroughly searched. door to the tower? side door? or main door? ]
Satoru begins to breathe heavily as the adrenaline wears off, leaning on his taller Companion for support.  She elects not to notice that his head is situated at the perfect (imperfect?) height to rest against the side of her chest.  More time to chastise him for that later.  He’d been through quite a lot.  So, instead, she gently wraps her luminescent wings around him comfortingly.

“I’m guessing…that’s what…the bastard wanted…proof of.”  The human points at the eviscerated body of the warg as he pants.  “While he might want a head…perhaps an ear would work?  I’m guessing you might want the head yourself for other reasons, Toryn."
Oh! Toryn exclaimed. Ah yes, we ventured forth into the wilderness for that very purpose didn't we? The gnome looked a bit sheepish, for in his excitement for adventure and salvage he had almost completely forgotten about the mission the group was sent on in the first place. He squinted at Greypelt's corpse for a minute, mulling things over in his head before shaking his head. I would be happy to collect a fang or two as a souvenir, but Giggles can have the head. She seems to have developed a taste for tanning it seems. Speaking of which...

Toryn walked to Harley and prodded her in the thigh. You're looking a bit healthier than usual. Perhaps all this sunlight and fresh air did some good for you after all!
Offering the gnome the faintest of smiles, she said simply, Not right now my friend, I am still trying to get it all straight in my head, than turning her attention back to the monastery she said louder, I think the tower might be our best choice for defensible positions, but that's just me.
Lucian nodded to Harley, "Flip side is they could trap us, then burn or starve us out."  But he shrugged, "Regardless, you're right, the tower seems more defensible and we are out of time. So, at this point I think hunkering down here is our best option.  Now we just have to roll the dice and hope for the best."  He moves toward the tower and gives it an look to see how easily they could defend the area.

(Action - Starts looking for the most defensible position, giving the tower a particular good once over then helping to set up camp if it looks solid.)
Dunndero quickly and quitely returns to his feet and gestures to the group to move on, while saying, "I'll take first and mid guard, incase a bunch of those green lizard bastards be trying to bum rush us!, and moves to help Lucien find an easily defensible camp position within the ruins.
