"How many attacks have der been, how often, an when did dey happen? Maybe der be a pattern?", inquires Dunndero to the camp Forman.
dunno. maybe 10-15 we werent keepin track early on. Nuff so that many of our crew is new and we arent as effective. as for a pattern sometimes the attacks are back to back. sometimes a week between them.
Lucian stood back listening and piecing information together as best he could, "All the attacks seem to be in the morning?  Or is the thing attacking at other times in the day? And Have you or your workers seen any sign of the men after they've been taken.  I'm speaking of bones, chewed gear, etc?"

The wizard paused a second as something occurred to him, his tone very polite as this man, probably much like his boss, was clearly used to being in charge of things. "Oh, and my apologies, I'm partly thinking out loud. But you said the thing spoke? Did you catch what it said?"
not all. some came at dusk and one after dark that I know of. After theyve been carried off, nothing ever has been seen of them, at least to now. as for what it said. mostly cussing at us or shouting epitaphs but at times like he ws giving orders to accomplices, that we never saw hide nor hair of, I think he was trying to divert us from giving chase.
Breezy looked at the other adventures, and asked, "Question is do we look for tracks tonight or wait till morning? Either way sounds like posting a watch would be helpful."
I wouldn't mind setting up camp here for the night. My tenderloins are chafing a bit after all. And who knows? Maybe the wolf gets greedy and we catch it in the act again tonight.

Toryn put his hands on his hips and gave the foreman a solemn stare, growing serious all of a sudden. Ten to fifteen already missing? You and your men are quite brave to continue working under these conditions. Mister Foreman. Though I doubt your superiors gave you much choice in the matter.

Aside from throwing bounty hunters at the problem, has there been any attempt to up the security around here? Lay traps of their own perhaps? I find it very disconcerting that the Consortium would so callously disregard the safety of their workers, especially when the lumber trade seems to be integral to Falcon Hollow's commerce.
Dunndero looks to the group and inquires, "We have been on the road all day, and there is only a few hours of light left, I may be speaking for myself but I think we should rest up, an start fresh in the morn! We should probably set up camp and a warch for the night!"
((ooc: Ill advance the game when 4 more players post saying so.))
Lucian looks at the Foreman, again he keeps his tone level and polite, "If you haven't already, I would make groups of at least three workers and have them stay together at all times, even when marking trees. Maybe arm them with basic weapons, such as staves, daggers and hand axes. That should drastically increase survival ratings. You may have a dip in profits, but it will be far less of a hit than if you run out of skilled workers." He shrugged at the Foreman, "Like I said, just a bit of friendly advice if you haven't already done these things. And thank you for the information."

He turned to the group as they spoke of making camp or scouting. Lucian agreed with Dunndero, "Yea, I believe we should be rested for tomorrow.  Though if we are scouting, much like I was saying to the Formen, we should stay in groups of 3 at least and no matter how we scout, we need to stay in visible sight of each other."

"My vote is we scout the immediate area, find a nice spot to make camp and alternate watches."
Yawning, Harley rubbed the sides of her thighs, camp, food, sleep, sounds great, she muttered more to herself then anyone else. Wolves hunting in the light was unheard of, like herself, they were nocturnal creatures, but at the moment, she couldn't be bothered to care much, her everything was sore and she needed time to recoup before starting up the hunt. Is it right for your butt to be sore from walking? My butt is sore.
