It is hard to tell when Malcolm is being sarcastic, but you have your suspicions that was what it must be like.
"Well it would be a place to hang out while I figure out what to do next. I don't get a sense that the other mutants will want to go. At least not yet. Some will want to stick around to make sure Masque doesn't cause more trouble. I would too except for wearing out my welcome."
When everyone wants to be returned back to normal is normal again, Psi-Jack says to Malcolm, "Lets go to this palace you found yourself living in."

He begins to lead the way out, but he is trailing a clairvoyant tendril of frce to watch for people following.
After a short discussion Psi-Jack decides to go with you for now. With the help of your Morlock friends, you make your way back to where you came in. You climb up the ladder and Malcolm uses his Telekinesis to lift the sewer hole cover and peep out. He doesn't see many people at this time of night.
Malcolm uses his tK to lift the lid quietly off then lifts everyone up, one by one. Then climbs the ladder last. Once up he will quietly use his TK to move the lif back in place.
