You forgot the character's name in the first sentence. Can you clarify who you think did excellent role-playing?

Welcome back Nacesh! A bit of casterly support is always welcome, and something our party would have sorely missed without you.

While he was watching the stars at camp, a dragon (from his land) appeared just after Mardaks musings "he goes back to looking up at the sky hoping for something to come for him"
Something came for him and he got up and chased after it. He wanted revenge. sure it may have been foolhardy but out of all the people in the group, Mardak should be the only one that knows about a dragon. He became a Bounty Hunter to kill a dragon.
Unfortunately I cannot find your background. If you have it then you need to let me see what you've written. If it was lost in the move from Plothook then please redo your history.
This goes for everyone who doesn't have a background. I need to see it so I can possibly tie events into your history. Also, please think of a major goal for your character and 2 or 3 minor goals. A major goal could be to slay the dragon who killed your family and some minor goals could be to find a family heirloom (which might be a dragon slaying sword to kill that dragon) or to create a specific magic item or spell, or to solve a riddle that will lift a family curse so you can defeat a hated enemy (like that dragon), etc. This will give me some ideas what to plan and what to give bonus experience points when you succeed. Please no goals that are unrealistic like, to find the dragon's treasure worth a billion gold pieces and that also has the most powerful artifact in the world that was prophesized that I would use to take over the universe. Cuz it's not gonna happen.
Why thank you Nacesh. 'Much Obliged' *tips hat*

I had a similar character with something less dangerous (well... if "any large animal" is less dangerous than this one of dragonkin) but the same mindless rage and sentimental mindset (lost wife and child... even though that child was unborn yet) and if he caused destruction of the party (read: T.P.K.) I would've said "It was fun while it lasted"
At the same time I do agree with the house rules stating "Reckless actions at the expense of the group will not be rewarded".
I do hope that 's sacrifice will be rewarded even though it could've been one of them nameless mules instead of Beast. For Nacesh it is just that-- a nameless mule-- but for me, the player it's a great sacrifice on her behalf and if we were playing hero points I'd lobby for her to get one for effectively "overcoming" (if not winning) the encounter for the party.
Speaking of same house rules section; I apologise for being absent for so long, even though I was back to the games I DM. I do agree with having a reduced share of XP but at the same time I'd say at the benefit of the whole party.
I may be banging at open doors but I recommend whatever my character doesn't receive to be distributed among the rest of the characters. E.g.
900xp for 5 shares = 180 xp each;
same 900xp for 4.5 shares = 4x200 (active players) + 100 xp (DMPC).
Cheers and nice to be back
Well, players usually take quite a bit of time to create their characters and then to have the party slaughtered because of one player's action, is to me, not a great time. And realistically, if I had someone adventuring with me who recklessly put my life and my companion's lives in danger for a hopeless cause, I would have to seriously reconsider adventuring with that person any more. At the next village I'd be giving him the boot. In fact, he's lucky the party is good and they don't just leave him to die for his foolishness.
I want to make it clear that,
I AM NOT ADVOCATING FOR THE PARTY TO DO THIS. Please understand, I've known Mardak's player personally for close to 20 years so I can speak a little more bluntly regarding his character's actions then I would someone I'm unfamiliar with.
As for XP, I cannot give someone experience points for pointlessly reckless actions. Betimi will get bonus XP for her quick thinking that possibly saved the party. As for your experience, I'm not too concerned about you vanishing for the last couple of weeks mainly because you had the best of reasons. You will keep your experience up to the encounter before the Wyvern (or most of it). This encounter will be a little less than the others as Nacesh didn't do much of anything other then sleep until after the Wyvern left and you started helping Mardak.
I started a new Thread that is called 'Background/ History' if anyone would like to post their BGs there, go ahead
Actually, please don't post there as it is generally accepted that it is the DM who begins threads. It just makes it easier when moderating if the moderator is the thread creator. I will create a thread later when I get up as I worked all night and I'm currently in bed.
Thanks.

Okay, deleted the entire thread.

It could have been, but those mules were not Betimi's and therefore not among her resources.. I know the posts were fairly quick, and had we waited perhaps another player would have had a solution, but that is the nature of PBP games. Besides it is/was a great roleplaying opportunity
The nit-picker in me wants to correct you... it's been more than 20 years. He was already playing with you when you and I first met and that was in 1993. 8P
