So Meek is going to become a cleric?
Scrolls, books and divine sounds like archivist.

Meek will be choosing a new name and as Betimi stated, will be an Archivist. For those who don't know, Archivist are like wizards but they cast Divine Spells. Any divine spell from any class or prestige class. All they need to do is find a scroll of whatever spell he wants, scribe it into his book, and then he can memorize it to cast. I thought since both our Clerics lean toward combat it would be a good idea for Meek to be a Divine Caster so the PC's don't have to leave battle to heal someone as often. I don't know how long Meek will be working with the group but I assumed they would like to have a little extra healing. Archivist also have access to many typically Arcane spells through such classes as Adept or Cleric Domains.
What's particularly cool about Archivist is some classes gain some divine spells earlier than others. For example, there is a spell called Summon Giants. It's an 8th level Cleric or Winter Domain spell from Frostburn, but it's also a 4th level spell for the Disciple of Thrym Prestige Class. So an Archivist could scribe the spell in his spell book as either an 8th level spell or a 4th level spell (or both) depending upon which scroll he finds. Obviously, Meek would want to seek out a Disciple of Thyrm so he can summon some gianty goodness at 7th level rather than waiting for 15th level. The only barrier is that some classes like the Disciple of Thyrm are not only rare but also unlikely to make copies of Summon Giant because they would want other feats that would synergize better with their abilities. So Meek won't be going down to his local Magic-Mart to pick one up any time soon. But Archivist do get Scribe Scroll, so like any item creation feat they can work with the Disciple to create such a scroll.
We have a second cleric?? *is surprised and honestly had no idea!*
Also, one thing I’ve learned the hard way is that in-combat healing is incredibly inefficient and unnecessary. It wastes turns that could be spent doing more useful things devoted to the completion of combat and allows the enemy to get a few more attacks in.
Yeah, Kee, our other cleric, hasn't posted in a while. But he hasn't posted in games that are especially active or in a game where his friend (I think they're friends) DM either. So it's likely something is going on in RL that's caused his posting to slow down.
Speaking of posting, you guys need to decide which NPC is traveling with you through the Stain.
Main Group: Betimi, Eek, Forge, Kee, Nacesh, Selina
NPC's: Giley, Jonath, Meek, Piper, Simon, Tomeal
Assuming Simon is coming as a guide, I would suggest no more then one or two NPC's go so it doesn't get too crazy. Those who don't go with you will gain a percentage of xp based upon whatever you the party gains.
I like all the NPCs!
if I had to pick just one or two I guess Gilly or Tomeal. Meek and Piper can repopulate the Kobold tribe if we die. Maybe there's an Archivist spell to change genders
At this point there are so many NPC's I kind of wanted to have a stable of NPC's you can call upon to join you for different quests. One quest might need a bard so you bring Piper while the next quest requires stealth so you bring Giley. It kind of reminds me of Final Fantasy where you choose the members of your party when you need them. The NPC's who aren't on quests stay back and do their own thing until they are needed.
