Dez and Zero move out into the reactor chamber. 

As they pass by the guard at the entrance they come literally side by side with the guard. Zero is able to assist Dez by gliding directly between her and the guard, blocking his view of her, but she still has to rolla deception check [Rolled for both of you to move this along.

[Zewo: deception aid another [1d20+7] = 13+7 = 20, Dez: Deception [1d20+4] = 11+4 = 15]

The guard doesn't take a second look.

Just as you turn 'north' and begin making your way to the doors that will eventually lead to the hidden space dock, a loud alarm klaxon starts to sound from the corridor to the south, the one all the guards in this room are so tensely watching.

"What in the frakking..?"
"Is that..?"
"Dreg, if they let FOG's pet loose..."
"Pet?"
"Nevermind, just unleash hell on anything that comes around that corner."

[OoC: Does Zero know what Fog's pet is?  As the base doctor he might have had to at some point treat the beast.]

Even if Zero doesn't know what the pet is, he didn't like the tone in the guard's voice.  Zero will scurry away (can a flyer scurry?) toward where the ship was waiting.  He will continue to provide Dez visual cover.

Dez and Zero begin walking quickly toward the north door, as klaxons echo from the south entrance, around the vast humming shield dome in this room. As the klaxons sound all the guards arrayed around the room run from their posts to array themselves in a defensive arc around the south entrance.

Leaving the way completely clear.

Zero stays near Dez despite being able to cover the distance to the doors in almost half the time this is taking. Dez just passes the halfway point when the guards suddenly open fire in a concentrated attack as something BIG charges out of the blaster fire and smashes the nearest guard with a humongous club/hammer.  It looks like a massive brute with its face in it's chest surrounded by thick, leathery hide.

The creature smashes the nearest guard, who barely manages to keep his feet.



Roll initiative

"That's our cue."

Dez rushes towards the door.

Sorry missed that. Yes, zero knows that FOG keeps a kintan strider for his combat arena. You have never had to treat its injuries as it seems to have an extremely remarkable ability to heal

Round One

The guards bartrage the kintan strider with blaster fire, leaving it enraged, butr it looks charred and unsteady.

Dez and zero can go, you are on the far side of a huge shielddome remember, so you can see the battle but have layers of shield between you and it.

Dez readies her blaster as well, but continues for the door. [double move]

Zero and Dez race for the door, well Dez races... Zero kind of lazily glides around.

They almost rreach the door, when suddenly they both spot first teh Talz that Captain Sunt and Dez had met escaping the mines with the pilot Captain Sunt was seeking. Then a moment later the four-armed Captain Sunt appears around the corner, behind the hulking kintan strider.
