"Me encountered an incorporeal bit of nastiness too!" Toot replies.
"But me prefer discretion rather than valor so me summoned a Unicorn for its protection aura. Then strange wizard appeared and cast a spell to trap the thing long enough for me to make a clean escape." Toot decides to leave out everything about the other doodid he met for now.
"When me returned in river to underground cave, me saw pillar of light too. You say you came here through light pillar, can we use pillar to escape too?"

The lean man nods with a sigh of relief upon the positive reception of his offer to parlay. Glancing back, he takes a step forward and to the left to give way to the man in breastplate.
"My name is Murkatos, armorer by trade, and I came here looking for my fortune. I expected an easy trip and was not prepared for the horrors that assaulted me on this haunted place. Two ghosts, or some other kind of incorporeal nastiness, cornered me inside the mansion that is at the end of this tunnel. I would be probably dead by now if these fine men," indicating the other two, "came to my aid. Together we defeated the undead; as well as the darkmantles," this time he indicates the corpses lying around on the floor of this very cavern "but we lost one of our companions in the struggle."
He stops at this point and glances at the man in breastplate, encouraging him to step forward and he does so.
"Name's Maul, humble priest of Pelor. Our party of four was sent by the Council of Sea Jewel to follow a prophecy of the ancients called The Chant of Ages. If you saw the prismatic cylinder of light behind you; that's the portal through which we arrived. According to the Chant these are the Tunnels of Hate, and we are supposed to find the Sea of Hate; throw the Key of Hate within to lock up the Sea. Right now, however, we are in a stalemate since we encountered a nasty adamantine-made guardian that threatened our lives. We-- To make to long story short there must be more evil lying ahead and if you are willing to accompany us on a noble quest we offer a fair share of all threasure found. Once we get through the guardian of the armory, that is."
At this point Giant also steps forward and nods -
Yeah, a moving statue, you know.
We don't share our loot with them I don't know them and I don't trust them but they can get reward from the Council if they survive this place. - He looks resentfully
Maul looks at Giant.
"On behalf of the Council leave business to me. We do offer equal shares."
Looking at Toot, Maul answers,
"Yes, we can return to Sea Jewel but we suspect it is a one-way travel."
Toot realises that the guard's form is an illusion: it is the orc Toot saw before! The halberd is an illusion covering the signature double axe.
The armorer notes the scrutinious look of the druid and immediately comments.
"Forgot to mention that orc-- he's fine too." With a smile, he points at the "guard".
Upon this cue, Torin and Portho immediately realise the illusion as well. Murkatos adds another bit.
"If they wouldn't be fine they wouldn't have been escorted by an elven wizard, would they?"
This raises an alarm in Toot. Elven wizards don't have good reputation where he comes from... But then again, these strange names-- Sea Jewel, Pelor -- make no sense to the druid either; maybe these people come from a different place? A very different one?...
Even tho no one can make out Portho's features, he is still an invisible form sheathed in Faerie Fire, he visibly slumps. His rapier's tip dropping almost to the floor.
"Sea Jewel? Council?..." He turns toward the dwarf. "Torin, ye have brought us somewhere far far from the Sword Coast. That portal has brought us to a realm we are alien too. I just wanted to go home..." The last is almost plaintive.
Maul sighs,
"The name 'Sword Coast' sounds just as alien to us as 'Sea Jewel' to you. Would the name 'Waterdeep' ring a bell?"
OOC: orc = half-orc

Yeah, I am fine half-human. Are you fine too? Yum-yum - he licks his lips with a wide smile so you can see his scarred tongue

Her name was Merri, she was my second friend.
OOC - You forgot to mention that the elven wizard is dead and she is in a sack
"Waterdeep is my home. It is the City of Splendours, the greatest of the cities on the Sword Coast."
"may Pelor watch over her soul," Maul nods with a moment of silent mourning.
Upon Portho's unexpected response the priest adds, "I've been told that many people refer to Sea Jewel by that name."

[OoC sorry I as long-time Forgotten Realms DM have nevcer heard Waterdeep called Sea Jewel. Is that a term that is comonplace as far as Portho is concerned? Or was I correct at first that it is a term he would NOT know?]

"What you mean you can return but you suspect it one-way travel. You just said you arrived here through the pillar of light. If it is a one-way travel, how do you plan to use it to escape?"
Then to the illusion disguised half-orc, Toot says,
"Nice Double Axe."
Toot didn't care where these 'humans' came from and as for their funny sounding gods, if they granted helpful spells and they were willing to cast them upon him and Boo then that's all that really mattered. Even if they were of questionable moral character, it didn't matter as long as they didn't attempt to harm them. But that was still to be tested. One could argue that Half-orcs and perhaps even Grey Dwarves are looked upon with less prejudice than Jermlaine, who are seen as little better than vermin to be exterminated. Toot wondered how quickly that Double Axe would come into play if they knew he was Jermlaine. Which was why he took the form of a Gnome. People see them as cute and harmless, little tree-hugging, tricksters. It made him throw up a little in his mouth, to which he thinks, 'huh... I don't remember eating that...' Then with a mental shrug Toot dismisses the random thought from his mind and then thanks the mother goddess that at least none of them were gnomes.
