[IC] Chapter 1-10: Crypt of Hate
Lugar will back out of the vault before the floor crumbles. "Dam you! You disobedient little shit!" He then marches back to the rest of the group mumbling Dwarven curses at the construct. Lugar nearly hurls the circlet as he removes it and rips the cloak off in frustration. How many times has he almost been killed today? Looking at Murkatos he can't help but wonder.

"You know, Murkatos, I can't help but wonder if you and the vampire are related. Didn't the blood sucker call out 'spare the wizard' when the rest of us were putting our lives on the line up there?" Lugar seems rather animated as he waves his clenched fists around, still holding the items. "Here! Maybe you have Sermour blood in your human veins and don't know it! You're both word flingers and finger waggers after all!" And he shoves the items at Murkatos.

Ooc- maybe Murkatos will have better luck commanding the construct. He knows more about it than anyone else.

He was always suspicious to me. Wink

Why not go we all up and throw the remains into the circle? The vault is safe and the statue is still in a good place.
The armorer blinks as he fumbles to catch the incoming items mid-air.
"Spare the mage, he said" he mumbles.

Then looking around, he says, while donning the cloak and the circlet.
"I need a volunteer to escort me to the vault."

OOC - simultaneous posts... Giant has a point there.
"Let's go." Lugar follows Murkatos back to the vault.
"It might not see us but it can hear us talking. Keep talking while outside," the armorer explains his plan to Lugar while making the short trip.

Once there, it seems he was right as the construct remains motionless.

"Now, come inside. Watch out for the ledge."

As Lugar steps in the guardian starts to move.

Murkatos starts telling it to stop in various languages. Finally, the construct ceases its attempt at reaching the two.

"Draconic," he says and utters a longer instruction. Those speaking Draconic understand it as...

"Protect me from attacks made by weapons, by spells or unarmed, following me if possible and do not harm living beings unless they attack me."
"Dragon magic..." Lugar says with awe, then picks up his jaw and looks at Murkatos meanly.  "It was luck! I could've done the same if wanted to.  What did you tell it?  Will it lift us to the ceiling? Will it destroy the skeletons?"
"Lift us, probably, but at least won't attempt to hinder us in climbing. I hope. " the armorer replies, apparently distracted so much that he didn't realise what Lugar actually did after asking the question. The golem is still twenty feet deep, hardly able to reach the party, let alone give a lifting hand, and even then it wouldn't be able to pass the narrow shaft even if it would be able to climb at all which it isn't really designed for.

Finally he looks at Lugar and all those who drew closer, spreading his arms and shaking his head.
"It's very strange. I have no royal ancestry and as far as we can tell this is not my plane of existence."
Yeah, very strange, Sermourkatos.

He whispers to Lugar: Do you think we have to throw him into the circle too?
"Is it under your control enough to contemplate freeing it from the pit?  Can it leave the armoury at your behest?"
"Honestly? No idea. I guess it obeyed my command to some degree but whether it's completely under my control--"

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
