I am leaning towards the rogue
Remember, we already have a straight classed Halfling thief. So If you plan to go Thief you should probably be a Fighter/Thief. Remember multi-classing is different in 2e than in 3.5e. In 2e, both classes advance at the same time rather than in 3e where you have to raise each class individually.
So that would make my character a 5th lvl Fighter/ 5 Thief (Bounty Hunter). when generating HP I roll for each class then divide by 2 and add theem together, round ing down right?
