Callie quickly pulls her boots on and jumps up, ready to go.  "Hugo must be a child.  I have pretty small feet.  I can't imagine a man having feet as small as mine.  At least Hugo [i]sounds[/] like a boy.  Right?"  She follows Monroe out the door, Hugo forgotten with the mention of coffee.  "Coffee and cinnamon rolls.  The big ones with the thick frosting.  Those go pretty quick."
Leading the way to the mess hall, she shook her head.

"I don't know how you can eat, right now."

A sudden thought crossed her mind.

"Do you think I should stop by the armory for my sword? It is, technically part of the dress uniform. But I'm not supposed to wear it while I'm on base..."
"You put those cinnamon rolls in front of me, I don't care what's going on.  I'm eating them.  Follow that up with a big cup of coffee with extra cream and sugar....  mmm, heaven."

Callie didn't have a sword or know how to really use one, so she had no answer to give.  "Well, I guess if you were supposed to have it, they would have said something.  I can't imagine we'll need any weapons for today."
She wrinkled her nose a little about the cinnamon roll.

"I suppose they would have said something, if they wanted me to bring it."

After an uneventful walk, they eventually arrived at the mess hall, where Monroe got herself a cup of coffee and sat down.
Callie arrives with a plate stacked with cinnamon rolls and pancakes. Her coffee looked more cream than coffee. While she usually ate a lot of sweets, she ate even more when she was nervous. The whole mess was quickly devoured.
Monroe wasn't even done with her first cup of coffee by the time Callie has scarfed down everything on her plate. She raised her eyebrows at the other woman, slightly impressed. But instead of saying so, she shrugged.

"Alright. Guess we're going then. To the field?"
She finishes off her last roll and washes it down with her coffee.  "ok, let's do this."
---Callie and Monroe---

The two girls walked out of the mess hall and came face to face with their Instructor, Colonel Carol Black, standing there with her arms crossed. She was the base commander, but also their trainer.
Granted she didn't teach every lesson,  Combat and Survival training were taught by Sergeant Mace Woodard and Cooporal Kora (They didn't know her last name. They were fairly certain no one did except maybe the Colonel.) The two split those subjects equally, Kora teaching more underhanded and subtle ways of fighting, while Sergeant Mace taught them the basics.
Colonel Black however taught them nearly everything else.  Most, if not all the C.S. personnel here, always thought it a bit odd, that the Colonel spent so much time instructing them.  Especially considering she was almost constantly interrupted with various crisis's that would pop up regarding the base.   It was a secret base of course, no one was supposed to know about it because it was meant to monitor one of the greatest enemies of the Empire, the Kingdom of Tolkeen.

Still, much of this personal attention, plus the regular visits by the great hero, General Underhill, along with the Emperor himself, lead to a lot of speculation over the two girls.  And phrases of princess and coalition royalty popped up here and there, though it was rarely used in a derogatory manner.  Over the years, the majority of the base came to view the girls as their mascots so to speak.  So, the girls had a lot of "Aunts and Uncles" Who would look out for them in various ways.  For Colonel Black though, she never had that over friendly vibe to her.  She always maintained that aura of "I am your teacher and commander, and this should be respected."

In that way, in all their years, they had never seen this woman raise her voice.  Not even once, but everyone seem to listen to her as if her words were so heavy there was simply no other option but to heed them. It wasn't magic or anything extra-Ordinary, the Psi-Stalkers would have picked that up instantly, it was just, this woman's entire demeanor seemed to demand respect and attention. "I see you are both up early this morning. That's good.  For your graduation, the emperor and his family will be here to observe your greatest skills and strengths in order to determine if you are ready to step out into this world and defend humanity." Then the girls saw a flash of a rare smile as the Colonel added, "I have faith in you both. I know you won't disappoint."
She turned and started walking toward the training yard fully expecting to two young women to follow her, "Kora and I will walk you through the various tests they wish to observe."

As if on queue, they hear Kora's voice directly behind them. "And trust us.  This WILL determine your future."  This made both girls jump slightly as they hadn't heard the woman and Callie even let out a little squeak as she jumped.  They had known Kora for their entire time here as well, but Psi-Stalkers were just ... unnerving.  At least Kora had all her hair, most of them didn't and it made them look even more menacing.  Still, despite her hard exterior, Kora let them both get away with quite a lot growing up here.  Multiple times she could have stopped them from doing something, mischievous or slightly out of the rules and while the girls KNEW she knew, she didn't call them on it.

The two older woman received multiple salutes as they walked across the yard to the training area.  The arena opened up and several personnel had arrived to watch. This wasn't unusual.  The entire base knew the girls were special, even if rumors of them both being the secret love children of the Emperor or some High-up C.S. official persisted, most assumed it was due to the miracles they saw the two girls perform in this training arena.
Monroe snapped off a salute to Colonel Black, then fell into step behind and to the left of her. Why left? Because you always hear about people's "right-hand man", but never about the left. Left is seen by some superstitious folk, like people from Tolkeen perhaps, as unlucky. Monroe just liked that vibe.

When Kora appeared, Monroe did a slow walking-spin, giving the Psi-Stalker a slightly less formal salute and a smirk when she briefly faced the mutant, then continued following in silence.
Callie hadn't felt any anxiety up until today's event was staring her in the face. That plus the unnerving aura of the psi-stalker made her regret filling her belly full of sugar. None of that stopped her from using her military etiquette sharply. mostly be reflex. She followed Monroe's lead, keeping close to feed off her chill energy. She just hoped that her nervousness didn't show.
