Gedeon feels pain, and super angry.
Thanks Smile The more emotion, the better my posts will be. At least until he gets his Empathy under control.
Big Grin Most of us are used to it, since Aurum is an mostly unshielded telepathic receiver. Crowds are painful for her, and she is always catching random thoughts from everyone.
That brings up something I've been thinking about. For a thought, one could just post what that thought is that's impeding I the telepath's consciousness. But for an emotion? Would it just be "an overwhelming sense of xx emotion"? Or would it actually impede his thoughts to the point that he would start to experience the urge to play out the emotion himself? Need to think about that one...

That is up to you.  When we first started playing this game many many years ago I believe I told everyone that they should think about a minor limitation to play.  The three most notable were Aurum's receiving random thoughts, Katrina's earth-like appearance and Static Charges difficulty with sudden turns.  I think the thematic circuitry around Interface's eyes when he uses his powers were another... It's been so long and I had to take around a year off due to illness that most of the others I don't really remember and unfortunately we lost our original characters when Plothook went down.  But feel free to make up whatever roleplaying limitation you'd like.  It makes things a little easier for me to create adventures around characters when they do have some kind of limitation.

I'm sorry I haven't been around.  Work has been kicking my ass!!  Well, actually, the lazy people at work who don't do their work so therefore I have to do it for them are kicking my ass.  Dodgy   But I digress.  I'm working tonight but then I'm off for a few days so I hope to get caught up.
So can he respond to that now, Aurum, or does he have to wait till next round?
I don't think you have done anything after the attack which would be the start of a new round so sure.

Currently to speed things up I've been playing each round as first come first serve. But if a battle actually started we would be rolling initiative.

For you new players and as a reminder to the old players, normally you roll 1d10 plus 1/10th your intuition rounded down. So for an Ex 16 intuition you roll 1d10+1. Amazing 46 would roll 1d10+4.

BUT...

For this fight I'm trying something different. Because there are so many possible combatants, please roll 1d100+your intuition number. This will cut down on characters rolling the same initiative.

There are times when we create separate threads, so that characters can finish a conversation without interrupting everyone else's flow. Not all of those conversations happen in physical space. So, since thought is a lot quicker than actual speech, it's really up to Marvel whether we can jump to a quick Thought-Bubble Scene during whatever else is happening.

Aurum has yet to display any ability to block out physical reality, so we should still be aware of what is going on.
To expand upon what Aurum was saying, it's something I call Dynamic Roleplaying.  Generally speaking, I will usually announce a span of time (usually a week) and during this time many things might be happening at the same time.  You could be going out on a date; fighting in the danger room; on an adventure; etc.  Each event can have its own thread.  For example, while this encounter is happening with Static Charge, I have two other threads going (albeit very very slowly at the moment) for Malcolm and Gedeon's pre-mansion stories (Issue #0). If there is something you would like to do with your character, just let me know and I will create a thread for you to Role play in.  It doesn't even have to have anything to do with me as a DM.   During an event like what's going on with Static Charge, I usually don't add any more events because I can't be sure how what happens here could effect future events.   I hope this makes sense...

Also, I think it would be a good idea that whenever anyone attempts a power stunt that the player should also mention how many times they have done the stunt in the past.  Therefore we can be sure the right colour result is rolled and the amount of Karma is correct.  You don't want to use more Karma than you have to.
I understand. Alright.
