It doesn't matter what edition to me.  Whatever you guys decide is all good.

Any specific class we would need?  And if we need more players, I could coax a few of my players to jump in.  There are probably at least one or two that would be down.
I would rather play 2n edition.. and i can rework this character quite easily to 2nd edition (I actually just lose the bonus  to my stats from the 1st edition but do not even have to reroll any ability scores.. I would just become a Fighter with the cavalier kit from fighters handbook. I just take off the cavalier class benefits and add the kit benefits. Hindrances for the class and the kit are almost identical so no change. Then just rework proficiencies and ...
THAC0

I have a ton of 2nd edition books in a OneDrive  but  found a single PDF that someone compiled that has everything we could need.

I think I would rather do 2nd edition too but not use the Player's Options books.  Even though I really did like the Player's options, I think it might be adding a layer of complexity that people aren't familiar.  Also, Player's Options almost feel like a 2.5 edition that can be abused fairly easily.  I made a Full Plate wearing wizard with d8 hitpoints, fighters THACO, strength and con bonus who was only limited to only a couple of schools of magic but they had the most damaging spells.  It was alright for that game because we were playing in the Birthright Campaign setting where the blooded characters were suppose to be more powerful and he and the other optimized characters were the rulers of their Kingdom/domains, but it wouldn't be appropriate for a grittier Ravenloft game.
Same, i was not even conidering using the Players options books... they were cool but I agree they basically were a whole otheredition.
Well, let me know when you guys want to make the characters.  As well as who is GM'ing so I can switch out the permissions.
It looks like 2e wins.  It's been a long time so I'm not sure how much that will change the Cleric/Fighter.  I'm not even sure if Elves can be Cleric/Fighters in 2e.  It will have the greatest change on the Cavalier.  You'll have to check what your original stats were.

He'll be a fighter with the cavalier kit from fighter's handbook. Changes the character concept not at all and he qualifies with his original stat rolls

I found a PDF for 2e online.  It seems that Elves can't become multiclassed clerics.  So the only Options I have are:

  1. Become a single classed Cleric.
  2. Become a half-elf
  3. Become a Fighter/Mage
  4. Just ignore the rules on multiclassing because IMO they were ridiculous restrictions.
Comments?  Suggestions?
What about specialty priests Example i know you can multiclass thief/priest of erevan Illesre (sp?) So there might be a fighter /specialty priest combo.. looking through the dragon mags

I forgot about Specialty Priests.  I think I may even have the Demi-Human Deities book that came out for Specialty Priests.  I'll have to take a look.
