Missing Caravan
Looking at them in disbelief and surprise.  "Why?!?  WHY!?!?  Kick those fuckers while they're down!!!  They do not give a shit about us.  Resting or no resting!!!  Do you think those damned kids will like it if we sit on our asses?!?!"

Mardak storms off after the kids to kill all of the Kobolds.  "Pfft!!!  I'll do it me damn self!!!

Ooc... back... iirc Nacesh has a breath weapon. Has he used it up already for the day? If not can he move up to positionto cat h at least three of them before returning to company?

Ic... Nacesh listens silently to the others' arguments and adds,
I think Selina is right about traps. As for alerting the tribe I think we've already made more than sufficient noise to alert whoever's within this lair...

Betimi walks back to where Tomreal was searching the corpses , stooping to pick up the dropped crossbow on the way.  She helps him search the bodies quickly before voicing her opinion.

"I know Nacesh and Selina are running low on magic, but we have kicked the hornets nest. I vote in agreement with Tomreal and Mardak. As soon as Sir Jonath has some health restored we should push on."

[Search [1d20+1] = 2+1 = 3]
"Mardak don't go racing heedlessly after them. We will kill them no worries, but we need to work together."

[@Betimi: Tomeal already picked up your crossbow.]

[@Nacesh: I didn't know you had a breath weapon so you haven't used it yet.]

[OoC:  I need to update Nacesh's last burning hands...]

From concepts thread:
The four Kobolds scream as the fire summoned from Nacesh's outstretched hand engulfs their bodies.  They try to run or dodge but they don't get more then a couple of steps before crumbling into heaps of smoldering flesh.  They are all unconscious and didn't get a chance to run away!

Those of you who search the Kobolds find a total:

On the 8 regular Kobolds:
86gp's total
8 small slings
8 small spears
8 suits of small leather armor

On Kobold Sorcerer:
70gp's
1 small quarter staff
1 ever burning torch
2 potions of cure light wounds (labeled in common)

Jonath searches the body and finds it to be half elf.  He looks to have been dead for a couple of days and he's been stripped almost naked except for his loin cloth, a smashed holy symbol of Apollo and a clean white bandage which is wrapped around his head.  Tomeal recognizes the man as Kiplen, the the bridge guard medic.  Dropping to his knees, Tomeal asks Selina, "Can you say a small prayer for Kiplen.  He was a good man who always thought of others before himself."

[Retrofitting a response based on new info]  Selina winces as the kobolds erupt into smoldering piles of scaly flesh.  She didn't like them very much, but she still felt that no creature truly deserved to die painfully.  Or, at least, no creature she has met yet.  She moves over to where Jonath is, intending to help him, then she sees the poor man who was once a fellow cleric, left in such a disgraceful state, and she can't decide whether to allow the sorrow at his situation, or the anger at the ones who did this to him control her.  A tear runs down her cheek as she sinks to one knee, gently placing her shield down and using her free hand to cover and close the man's eyes.  Collecting the pieces of the broken symbol, Selina gently lays it upon his chest.  Such a horrid way to die.  She did not know how he died, but no cleric should face his or her deity like this.  She prays silently with all her heart, because he deserved it.  Because a person who made it his goal in life to look after others should be looked after himself.  She intones:

"May the god of this good person find it in his merit to bring him home.  Such a life as he had, may the gods see fit to provide him the succor in death which he had not received in life."

She lifts her head, blinking away more tears, then collects his hands and places them gently on his breast over the shattered remnants of his symbol.  Finally, she collects her shield and touches her symbol of Selune, just to make certain it is still there.

"Come, it is time to reassess our situation.  I would like to see if any of these items we have collected bear any sort of magical quality to them.  I'm certain there will be a number of us who would be quite interested in certain items if they are."

They know whom they are, she thinks.  She starts gathering the items into groups and looks them over, squinting her eyes in focus to try to ascertain anything different about them.

Spellcraft: [1d20+2] = 4+2 = 6

[[Apparently, she can't see any magic at all.]]

Seeing that apparently Selina has no healing magic left for Jonath, Betimi picks up on of the potion vials and hands it to him.

"Here, hopefully we can trust that these are labelled true. But we cannot even safely retreat for rest with you in such shape. I think you may wish to take the risk"

Selina looks at Betimi oddly...then it clicks for her.

"By selune! Jonath I am very sorry. Come, sit and rest while I tend your wounds."

[[Heh. Sorry. Forgot she has one CLW left. Is maximized since we're out of combat so he gets...10 hp, I think

Realizing that it will be a bit of time while Selina heals Jonath [10 rounds for maximized?] Betimi tries to get the others organized defensively.

She picks up the everburning torch and takes it with her to J3 so it will shine down the south passage as well as down the tunnel to the east.

"Tomreal, can you join me here with that crossbow, it is the best range weapon we have, and we need to cover these corridors, reinforcements WILL be coming."

"When we rejoin civilization we will have to get slings or crossbows for everyone for these situations."

She looks down at the jewelry on her left wrist with a frown..

Sorry my friend, I hope you will recover soon, I didn't mean to endanger you...

Tomeal does as he's asked and then says, "Do you want me stand guard or do you want the honor? I MIGHT have a slightly better aim [+4] but you have the better eyesite and complimentary abilities with range weapons than I do. I can temporarily use these small spears as ranged weapons if and Kobolds show up."

"I guess I should take the crossbow for the moment as my aim is slightly better [+5], but please stand ready with those spears as I cannot watch both directions at once, and these creatures are quick to ambush. Mardak mayhap you could watch the entrance in case the decide to loop around from another exit? Take Nacesh and a few of those spears as well, position yourself where you can see Selina and Jonath as well as us? We have several sources of light with Selina's glowing stone and your torch.

She looks down at her wrist and furrows her brows, appearing to have some internal dialogue
Yes I know we are not some army commander, barking orders, these humans will never fully trust us, why should they. But our best natural leader is busy healing Jonath, they need to be protected while she does.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
