Entry Cavern
"So then, Trap Finder, what shall we do next?  We've already been hit by one trap that nearly killed one of us and we're out of heal potions."  Cin looks at Chrome and Weyna and adds, "We are out of potions, aren't we?"
"Only two choices left really, press on or go back. I don't think rushing will be safe, so we best press on cautiously."

Reawyn shrugs and turns to resume the slow progress forward as he examines each step.

"We had to assume they knew we were coming anyway, so the guard, if that is what he was, spotting us changes nothing. After all we are walking with light sources into the lair of creatures that do not need them. They knew we were coming already.
Chrome nods. "One was used on me, the other i used on Weyna, so i have no more. Not terrible uses, mind you, but certainly we're left out and done should something happen. I'm certain I will be helpful against these creatures, compared to those mindless vermin back near the water, but we seem to be down some manpower after... splitting our resources."
"Well I know I've stated this before, but we need to be extra careful.  Perhaps if we had purchased a couple of 10' poles like I had suggested we could have used them to poke around in front of us.  They were much too heavy for me to carry and remain as mobile as possible."  Cin thinks for a moment then adds, "Perhaps we could attach something heavy to the end of a rope and toss it around in front of us and drag it back.  It might set off any traps while we were safely out of range."
"Good idea Cin."

Reawyn shrugs the heavy pack off his shoulders and stumbles a bit as he regains his balance. Then unhooks the coil of rope and grappling hook from the pack, before slinging the heavy pack back up onto his shoulders .

[Heavy load, now that the people that were sharing Reawyn's gear are gone. First robot I can find to reprogram to mule duty I will be happy, lol]

Reawyn begins slowly to move forward, tossing the grappling hook roughly 20' ahead then dragging it several times before proceeding, still scanning the area carefull as he proceeds.
(If anyone wants to take charge of sending PM's and tracking people down, go ahead. I gave up chasing players years ago.)

None of them have been returned in at least a month.  I think some may have been new to PbP and may have not liked the pace.  We have 4 character playing but none are front line.  Maybe advertising for a fighter type would be your best option rather than chasing them down.
And that is why I usually overload the groups. I think I already have someone waiting in the wings.
Weyna pipes up. "I have a very limited amount of times I can use my... stronger... abilities, in a day. But I can heal wounds... Wouldn't the traps and ambushes already be set off, if the other searchers came this way?"
"The gremlins are capable orf resetting their traps."

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
