[IC] Chapter 1-4: Cellars of Hate
#61
OOC - I was hoping everyone would run into the room so we could fight back to back and in the confusion of battle, the ghost wouldn't know which Merri was the real one. Lugar has some tricks that could make him appear magical (enlarge person, invisibility)

I say, Merri holds her action until Maul or whoever is next can drag her out of danger so she can stand up, so technically she is moving but on another characters turn. If that makes sense. Whoever grabs her can Withdraw, that should avoid attacks of opportunity?

If that isn't possible, would you allow her to use full combat expertise and ready an action to attack the ghost if it reaches out for her. Just pointing her magic sword at the ghost could be a deterrent.

Either way she should delay her action to see what happens. I think she would avoid any attack of opportunity from the ghost though.

Well her full combat expertise is +1/-1 as it stands now.
Readying an attack just in case the figure would attack her does not sound better than attacking right away.
I will think about pulling her away though. While I don't think the rules would say anywhere that such an event would provoke an AOO but that sounds like a loophole.
I may be missing for the weekend (sorry) but will be back on Monday with Merri's decision Smile

I will give you right away but first I have to destroy this monstrosity.

However, it couldn't deflect the low end of the weapon and the axe hits incorporeal flesh instead of solid stone.

I have forgotten to add the favored enemy bonus on roll20 (+2 dmg)

Hello Merri, how do you do?

OOC - oopsie Smile

While trying to defend herself to the best of her ability Merri swings her oversized blade so clumsily that she barely misses her own toes.
"Giant, step between Murkatos and me!" she cries out, trying to keep safe as much as possible.

Second round

Maul reaches out to touch Giant and prays to Pelor. A bright yellow light encompasses the barbarian and continues to emanate a much paler, barely visible aura. The creature emits a sound that resembles to steam escaping a pot, maybe a hiss of sorts.
Then Maul steps away from the orc, leaving him space to maneuver and others to approach if they wish.

Lugar's, Giant's and Murkatos' turn!

Lugar moves to pick up his pick wondering what's taking so long for everyone to enter the room. Hearing Merri's cry for help and Maul's prayer, Lugar changes direction from his pick, leaving it on the ground, to look down the hallway at his companions. Seeing Merri on the ground he reaches for his magic rope.

OOC - I figure it was a move action to go to the door way to see what is happening and another to pull out his rope? He wants to use the rope to attach to Merri and pull her away from the ghost if that's possible? Reminder, he looks like Merri at this point as well.

I'm coming. - He steps between them and attacks the evil spirit. (miss, 16)

A figure with the appearance of Merri moves to the door from inside the room, having a look at the scenario. With a single fluid move the impostor reaches into her(?) backpack, retrieving a coil of rope as thin as finest elven silk and utters a command, making the rope to snake forward rapidly, tying itself around the chest of the elven girl lying on the floor.

Heaving with a groan, the imaginary double moves in the opposite direction, passing the startled Maul and dragging the real(?) Merri out of her exposed position, right beneath Giant's feet.

"I'm coming." is what Giant responds to Merri's beckoning and steps forward to move to the designated position but meanwhile he realises that he's already between the two wizards so no need to risk any more movement.
His first attack makes contact with solid stone...

Still Giant's turn!
