Missing Caravan
Nacesh moves closer and tries to listen if there are any kobolds or other nasties moving around or talking (especially to understand if they are talking)

[OoC just to clarify the rope runs in BOTH? directions, through the closed portcullis as well as above the ore-cart tracks?]

Betimi, not willing to let Jonath risk himself entirely alone, whispers to him.

"I shall stay just a few paces back from you, Leraje has granted us her stealth today, so I am not unskilled, and I can see as well as you without the light.

That said she lets him get just a 10' lead and then follows him to the southeast with as much stealth as she can.

[Hide: Hide +4 from Leraje [1d20+7] = 7+7 = 14
Move Silently: Move Silently [1d20+3] = 3+3 = 6]

With the torch ablaze lighting the general area, he watches as the others go ahead into the dark unknown.  The heat and lack of air was getting to him or maybe he was just getting slightly annoyed by the lack of cohesiveness.  It wasn't a clusterfuck as much as he had thought, there was skill involved, just no co-operation.

"Yeah...Go ahead...Find tha kids."  He looks to the cleric or where-ever she went off to.  "I reckon you be stayin' with me." He states to Selina.  "Probably better for ya to get my protection."

Selina watches everyone wander off, separating the group into pieces and sighs, pinching the bridge of her nose. For once (and she is shocked by this), she seems to be in agreement with Mardak. At least, with what she assumed was running through his mind at the moment. She moves as slowly as she can (being in Hide Armor helped...not) listening for the telltale signs of...'Yarping'? Was that the sound the creatures had been making?

[OoC given that we could see the portcullis in the shadowy illumination area of the torch, Betimi should still be within easy vision range of the group if she is several paces of Jonath, even once Jonath is at the portcullis. It likely means I am 30' away to Jonath's 40' if you followed te description and it was accurate. Not exactly a party split, the idea is the srealthy scout ahead and the others easily follow the scouts' slower pace]

Mardak keeping his complaints to himself, for once, makes cautionary steps towards the ones ahead all the while his sword was ready to strike.  He nods to Selina "As long as ya keep yourself a fairies fart away from me, you'll be fine darlin'"

Ooc - I didn't mean to venture away from the party, just to get closer to the portcullis if it is safe... Now back IC...

"Just make sure those fairies don't fart too loud. " the spearman whispers and looks at Tomeal to assess his opinion in this academic debate.

Selina just continues to pinch the bridge of her nose and watch what the group is saying and doing right now, not even really sure this is reality anymore. She grabs Nacesh and pulls him closer, looking a little angry as she whispers "The idea is to let our scout and rogue move ahead and assess the way forward of perils and pitfalls. Unless you can hide yourself as well as he can, perhaps you should sstay here. Safety in numbersss."

Yes.

At the moment, unless Mardak moves his torch light, Betimi and Jonath can't hide in shadows.  If you have a special ability that I'm unaware of, please let me know.

Everything inside the yellow circle is lit up by Mardak's torch.  Selina's light is blocked by the wall so it shouldn't be an issue.  So Mardak will have to move away a little bit to allow them to sneak.

[From the SRD: In an area of bright light, all characters can see clearly. A creature can’t hide in an area of bright light unless it is invisible or has cover.]

Grey= Jonath
Purple = Betimi
Black = Mardak
Orange = Tomeal
Light blue = Selina
Dark blue = Nacesh

Once Mardak changes position so his light doesn't flash down the hall way, both Jonath and Betimi, who is lagging behind him by about ten feet, sneak toward the Portcullis.  Once he's able to peer through the bars, Jonath can see a 20'x15' room with around a 5' wide opening in the southern wall with what appears to be a body beside it and another 5' opening in the east wall of the south east corner of the room.  As suspected, the heavy bars are a portcullis but Jonath can see a pulley system to open it located some 5' to the west on the other side.  [You can kind of see it on the map at the very bottom to the left of the bars.]

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
