Missing Caravan
"Oh Mardak are you okay!?!"  He mockingly squeaks like a girl "Why yes, I'm fine thank you Betimi....Just a scratch!"  Mardak intones mannerly as he had HOPED for a more comforting response.

"How much I wish for the 'heart sick fool' right about now."  He then double takes to Selina "Can you help me Doc?"

"You're NOT fine, and we all know it. Now sit and let Selina have a look at you. Jonath is still down there, and more creatures may yet threaten."

She shakes her head, keeping careful watch over Jonath far below,.

She seems lost in thought while watching.
However did my mother survive, these humans are so soft headed. I know.. you've told me how you feel.. I know.. no I am not confused. No, I won't cast you aside for that.. you know you are my true friend. Yes, next time put a little more acid, the stirge barely felt that one.

She makes a small, exasperated noise, her brows furrowed in annoyance.

Mardak takes a seat beside Betimi and lightly touches her shoulder.  "What's wrong dove?"

[OoC: Assume Jonath is pulled up to safety and he tells everyone what he saw. If there's more, he can add it to his next post.]

Selina takes a look at Mardak, listening to the 'lover's quarrel' with growing discontent. The man seemed to take the brunt of the attack, as evidenced by the holes peppering his frame.

((Heel! er...Heal!))http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4882780/

"Hmm...Multiple piercing lacerations across the torso, extensive blood loss, possible shock reactions..."

She trails off as she seems mostly speaking to herself. She is, however, quite talented at her healing ministrations, and Mardak begins to feel better already. Selina hears what Jonath tells them with half an ear. For her, the time for tactics and strategy is not now. She had a man in her care right now and was determined to provide him with as much critical care as possible.

"Master Mardak, you are a very tough man. And, not to mention, very fortunate. These wounds were inches away from nerve plexi, and this one nearly cleaved your brachial artery. A bit worse off...and we would be talking about amputation. I trust you get my meaning of ensuring caution."

((She basically critted her Heal roll, so whatever else is needed to fully heal him, I'll add in.))

Mardak gives a sigh then adds "Thanks Doc, your words are always comfortin' better than Nurse Beti over here."  He chuckles as he might get another stern lecturin' or worse.

Once safely back to the top, Jonath fills the others in about the sunk boat on the opposite bank.

"We should make haste to the other side of the bridge to inspect that sunken boat - there may be survivors there that need our aid as well. Getting Mardak patched up is of course the priority for now, though - as soon as he feels up to it we can head across the bridge."

[OoC: Mardak didn't actually take any hit point damage. It was all Con damage which can't be cured with the Healing skill. But since you crit the heal check I will allow him to get 1 point of Con back and maybe more after some rest. For future reference, ability DRAIN is different and is considered supernatural so the healing skill won't be able to help with lost points. Hmmmm, perhaps I will introduce a new feat to make the Healing skill more useful for special conditions.]

Selina chuckles at Mardak. It was a close call, but he was alive and all in one piece.

"Well, laughter is the best medicine. That and a good astringent. And resssst, lots of resssst."

Selina blinks a few times, blushes furiously, then coughs and stands to move away.

"Well Doc, are you going to apply it on me later?"  Though the doctor walks off, a slow mischievious grin creeps across the face of the Hexblade.  After mumbling a small complaint he pops up off the ground, he takes one side glance to the obsidian eyed beauty beside him.

"Are we off then darlin'?"  Mardak dusts himself off with his hat before heading across the bridge regardless if they come or not.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
