Marvel Super Hero's OoC Thread
(08-28-2016, 04:41 AM)GM Marvel Wrote: Jack didn't turn on Lisa.  The accident that gave Jack his powers also gave Lisa powers.  Like Bruce Banner whose alter ego, the Hulk, gets activated when he gets angry, Lisa's alter ego gets activated by outside stimuli too.  It's just the only person who knew was Jack.  He found out from jokingly shocking her.

This isn't some random event that was added at the last minute.  Jack's player created him based upon a character he played in my real life game around 20 years ago.  In that game he had a Girl friend named Lisa so he started this character with a girl friend also named Lisa.  This is a similar story line I had in my real life game and he knew it was coming except the trigger was going to be different.  Unfortunately Jack's player is not with us any more so I am writing them both out of the game.  But rather than just having them disappear I figure this would be more Marvel-like.

Except that, in character, we don't know that, so for a second, it looked like Jack turned on Lisa, and then she turned into Not-Lisa and he looked smug, which means he knew that would happen... Which we can draw our own conclusions about his motives on.

This. Very much this. Then again, Johnny hasn't been looking at the house so he has nothing to say rp-wise.

True. Though the house is invisible, and she was very loud... On the other hand, you've got your own problems with the air-blast battle.

Oh, and I think I'm going to wait on James' action before posting Kat's.

Yes that's true.  But Johnny Blair had posted,
"Exactly what the crap happened while I was away today? I go from a manageable situation, to Jack turning on Lisa and...doing what exactly?" and I thought that he might have thought that the sudden twist was something I just at the last minute pulled out of my ass.  So I was explaining to him that this had been part of Jack's story since he created this version of Jack back when I created this game in 2007.  Jack recreated the exact same character and background from 20 years ago, wanting Lisa to manifest her power like she did when he played his original character.  I had started this 'story line' recently but when IRL Jack's player lost the plot, he had to be removed from my games.  So rather than throw out what I had already started, I decided to continue with the story but with (likely) a different outcome.

Just a reminder that it's only the front of the house that's now clear.  Players on top or beside the house can't see what's going on inside.  They will first have to move to the front of the house and deal with the wet ice that Porsche created.  Porsche may want to think about removing the ice because for the moment it seems to be more of a hindrance to the players than to Jack.

Ok, no problem

Since Jack is inside the house, I dont think the Ice rink does anything to disrupt him at all.

I didn't say that to insinuate that you had pulled it out of your ass or anything like that. I was saying it because (from a non-rp, non-metagaming perspective) I'm wondering what the crap he did to Lisa. As I said before, Johnny's attention is not focused on the house...though that may change after the windows exploded, never know...so he can't comment on any of the goings on.

Ok, that's good.  I like to be as fair as possible in my games.  I've had DM's who pulled things out of their butts just because he didn't like the outcome and to make life difficult for the players.  Like the one DM who attacked a friend's group with a dragon.  The players beat it in initiative and blew it out of the sky.  Then suddenly there was another bigger dragon attacking them.  Really?  Dodgy

I'm resolving actions for that round now.  Hopefully it will be posted soon.

I think he needs a nice vacation in the nice scenic countryside... possibly near a certain boarding school. I could even shape him a separate house, if he wants. He needs counseling."

Hmmmmm...I think I might know a guy who could...convince him to do just that. Wink

Except Johnny would have to go live with him because your power only lasts from 1 to 10 minutes.   Confused

Really?
"Trust me dude, you'll feel a lot better if you take a nice, long vacay. Anywhere you want, really, but it'll make you feel a whole lot better."

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
