[IC] Chapter 2-5: You're whirling 'round...
#41
[[Huh...strange.  Could have sworn I saw something about a 'dragon statuary' in the end post of the last chapter.  Oh well, guess it was my imagination running wild.]]

This is a true pocket dimension.  Objects that enter it are considered to be in a completely different place than where they previously were.  Or, put another way, they are 'cut off' from where they entered from.

(I didn't want to burn up detect magic since Shanna already had whatever information I would have gained.)

Merri points out the picture of the creature for others to investigate.

(Sorry. Too sick for creative thinking right now. )

OOC - Giant: no, it's not something you'd tell with Spellcraft. Shanna: no, it's not something you'd tell with Knowledge (Planes).

The reason is physics. The cross-section (where the normal and shrinks part are "connected" ) is very small, so if you want to drag out something relatively heavy it will easily tearing.
Torin follows his plan, waits a few seconds after the push and calls out the pony.
#45
OOC Torin - this one is the closest so far.

Upon Torin's call, nothing happens. The diminutive pony just stands there, frightened.
#46
Toot, could you call out the pony?
#47
It's not a matter of language, I think the caster can always command the mount... within hearing range...

Hm, physics. But this is all magic. Smile Can physics affect to magic?

What do you mean to drag something heavy? Do you think the dragon has swallowed the hook?

Your pony is frightened. Is this the sea of fear?

OOC - I made it 72 hours because I forgot the weekend Wink so here we go

Merri realises that while the items became smaller the force used to pull the rope remained the same, as well as the time elapsed while exerting that force. The "abrupt" yank on the rope worked against the inertia of the diminished items and tore the rope.
Or so she thinks.

DM is no physics expert so flame shield is now officially on Wink anyway congrats to those making an attempt to explain what happened Wink

OOC - brief summary with something new at the end.

Giant opted for a mushroom stew as meal of the day but then changed his mind.
Merri found an intriguing part of the carvings but did not find any secret doors.
Shanna realised what the party faced here was probably a pocket dimension but with a strange trait of being able to look inside but there are no signs of the dragon.
Torin recognised the diminishing effect.
Giant, Shanna, and Torin experimented with inanimate objects as well as livestock.
Merri revealed that the connection between this plane of existence and the pocket dimension is very much physical, and forces from here go through there.
Toot did not react on Torin's request to call for the pony. At least, none have noticed if the jermlaine had done so.

"What's that? Over there!" Lugar asks, pointing to the direction that's roughly at the northeast exit from the outermost ring.
Nobody can see what the deep dwarf refers to until he explains.
"It seems there's some smooth spot on the ground near that exit."
Well if there's such a spot, most still cannot see but Giant and Torin now catch a glimpse on what seems to be a roughly three inch diameter smooth spot with an irregular outline (no circle, square or similar)

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
