Entry Cavern
Reawyn takes the lead unless Kayla moves to go in front and begins scouting for traps.

[Perception +4 (+5 trapfinding)]
Once up the ledge, the group can see that this is a much different cave system. The ceiling is only 5 feet high, making it uncomfortable for human-sized people. The walls are a lot closer, too. Single file is the only way to progress. Immediately, two ways can be seen. The Northern path seems to lead into another small cave after 10 feet or so. To the east the tunnel opens up into a small cave right away.
"Unless one of you with special skills or magic suggests otherwise, I say we move toward the closest cave,"  Cin is about to walk in that direction when she stops suddenly and says, "Since little people tend to even the playing field with the big folk by setting nasty traps, might I suggest intense scrutiny of these tunnels."
"That is what I was doing. Stand back if you don't mind."

Reawyn moves towards the closer tunnel opening, continuing his search.
[OoC: When Cin was suggesting intense scrutiny, I was thinking of the possibly of Taking 20.  Since failing a search roll for traps doesn't set off a trap, there is no risk, so you should be able to Take 20. But I know some DMs don't allow Taking 20 on searching for traps so DM MiB would have to decide if it's possible. ]

[OoC: Or if Kayla is still here, Reawyn could Aid Another to give Kayla a +2 on her search check or vice versa.]

"Go right ahead."  Cin steps back 20' (Or as far as she's able without falling off the ledge).
No taking 20 on traps.

Reawyn moves up to the entrance but sees no traps.

[OoC good idea. I totally forgot taking 20 was an op[tion.. posting while working]

Reawyn nods his approval of everyone moving back to a safe distance rather than crowding him, just in case.  But within range that they could cover him if something attacked.

He resumes his search, more slowly and carefully.
(does this mean you're moving into the cave? There is no taking 20 on traps and none were found.)
Reawyn will continue forward into the cave, still searching, hoping the group knows enough to advance slowly behind him.

[Noty taking 20, just searching as he moves.]
Cin will follow 15' behind Reawyn hoping the distance would be enough if the trap finder errors in his search and sets off a trap but close enough to step in to blow somethings head off.  Her pistol is already loaded and ready to blow anything's head off that threatens the party.

[OoC: A reminder that Cin has a Trait called Defensive Strategist.  It means she is never caught flatfooted in a surprise round or before she gets to act at the start of battle. ]

[OoC2: She will be on the lookout for anything suspicious. Perception: [1d20+6] = 10  Dodgy Again with the crappy rolls. ]

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
