RE: OoC thread - Forge - 04-28-2017

Hit point gain = (11) 6+1 + 4 con (1/2 HD +1)
+1 BaB
+1 Fort
+5 Skills (2+2 Int +1Fav class) [I got confused with my skills when I realized I never added the +4 for 1st level favored class, it's updated now.]
Bonus Feat = Improved Damage Reduction
Ability Bonus for 2nd level = +1 Strength

I imagine that the water is helping to wash away some of the grime between Forge's joints? Now he just needs some tool to help repair the damage sustained.

RE: OoC thread - GM Marvel - 04-28-2017

I have a few reminders when you gain levels.

  1. You have gained the Able Learner at 1st level.  That means you no longer pay 2 skill points to raise a crossed-class skill 1 point.  Your max number of ranks for those skills are still half of a class skill.  So a 7th level person who could have a max of 10 ranks in a class skill would be restricted to 5 ranks in CC skills.  Language skills are different. [See #6]
  2. When rolling Hit Points, if you don't roll at least a minimum of half your max dice roll plus one then you raise it to that number.  So if you roll a d4 and you don't get at least a 3 (4 divide by 2 plus 1) then your roll becomes a 3.  A cleric who rolls a d8 and does not get at least a 5 on the roll then she raises the roll to 5.  Rogues minimum is 4 and Fighters minimum is 6.  You then add your Con adjustment to the roll.
  3. Players who take a level in their Race's Favored Classes gain 4 skill points at 1st level and then 1 skill point there after every time they take a level in the favored class.  Races without a favored class count the first class they take as their favored class.  Forge's favored class is Fighter.  Selina's favored class is Cleric.  Nacesh's favored class is Sorcerer. Gilley's favored class is Ranger.  All of you would gain the 4 skill points for 1st level and +1 skill point each time you chose to go up a level in your favored class.  Betimi's favored class unfortunately is Rogue so she doesn't gain any bonus skill points.
  4. Players gain new Feats every ODD level instead of every 3 levels.  So by 19th level you will have gained 10 bonus feats instead of the regular 7 feats.
  5. Stat points are gained every EVEN level not every 4 levels.  At 2nd level you choose a physical (Str, Dex, Con) stat or a mental (Int, Wis, Cha) stat and add +1 bonus to that stat.  Then at 4th you must choose the opposite type of stat to give +1 bonus too.  From then on every two levels the player alternates between physical and mental stats.  So for Gilley and Forge this will be the first time they get to choose a stat +1 stat boost.
  6. Languages:  Now that you're on another world you will quickly learn that common is not so common in different parts of the universe.  In this world the common language is, Ragamoll.  Unless you spend skill points on learning the local dialect you are going to have a tough time understanding the locals.  So while you're on this world you are considered to have Pidgin [See Below] for every language you speak.  Some languages may not even exist some worlds or some languages could be spoken in multiple forms.  For each skill point you spend you may update one of your Pidgin Languages to whatever the Local language that's similar to the language on your own world.  Bards may update 2 pidgin languages per skill point.
Pidgin
Pidgin language, is a grammatically simplified means of communication that develops between two or more groups that do not have a language in common: typically, a mixture of simplified languages or a simplified primary language with other languages' elements included. It is most commonly employed in situations such as trade, or where both groups speak languages different from the language of the country in which they reside (but where there is no common language between the groups). Fundamentally, a pidgin is a simplified means of linguistic communication, as it is constructed impromptu, or by convention, between individuals or groups of people. A pidgin is not the native language of any speech community, but is instead learned as a second language.[1][2] A pidgin may be built from words, sounds, or body language from multiple other languages and cultures. They allow people who have no common language to communicate with each other. Pidgins usually have low prestige with respect to other languages.

I think that's it for now.

Yes the water would help a little.  But don't worry.  You'll be all shiny and new in no time!

RE: OoC thread - Gilley - 04-29-2017

Nothing on the identify frogman roll, then?

RE: OoC thread - Forge - 04-29-2017

Woohoo! Hit point roll =12
Maybe I shouldn't be so happy about the DM beating the shit out of me now that I think about it...

Knowing about the language skills now, I would like to save 2 skill points to learn a new language.  As you say, Common isn't so common all the time.
Subtracted 1 point each from Climb and Swim if that's okay?

Don't you get +1 skill points for being Human as well?

I hope to be able to craft a masterwork mighty composite longbow for Gilley one day.

Wha?  I don't remember seeing that roll.  Did you go back and add it after you posted?   Huh

You rolled very well.  In your travels you have heard of and may have even met some other froglike creatures.  This creature most reminds you of a Bullywug.  They are normally aggressive humanoids similar to a kobold or a goblin.  But this creature doesn't seem particularly aggressive.  Perhaps this creature is unique to this world.  There are faerie tales of frog like water creatures.  But that's all you thought they were, stories that parents tell their children so they stay away from the local river.  In those stories such creatures appear as old naked men with frog like faces. Their body is covered in algae and they have eyes that burnt like red hot coals.  Local drownings where attributed to those creatures.  When angered they would break damn or drown people and animals or even drag people under the water tto their homes to become slaves.  You think these creatures were called, the Vodyanoy.

I added the roll a minute or two after I posted. Sorry.

Yes humans also get their human bonus as well.
