RE: The Dwarven Ruins - Portho Nihilbuck - 06-16-2016

"Agreed. None of my food has spoiled yet. If we get trapped down here we could use it to purify some of the rotten food in the piles. But right now that would be wasteful."

RE: The Dwarven Ruins - DM Surranó - 06-17-2016

OOC - stupid swype + autocorrect. It's "stale" and "rations" not "reasons" Smile

RE: The Dwarven Ruins - Torin - 06-17-2016

- Go back to the doors, I will try to get back my adamantine key! After that we explore the upper floor (the closed stone with spider coccons).

Torin tries to turn the key CW.

RE: The Dwarven Ruins - DM Surranó - 06-17-2016

OOC - finally Smile

As Torin turns the key the complex mechanism brings the stone door into motion and closes before the gargoyle's maw opens. The door is now closed but the key is free.

RE: The Dwarven Ruins - Torin - 06-17-2016

We go to upstairs and will open the door. (ooc - after Portho reply)

RE: The Dwarven Ruins - DM Surranó - 06-17-2016

OOC - map updated but let's wait for Portho if he has something to add before I describe the details.

RE: The Dwarven Ruins - Portho Nihilbuck - 06-18-2016

"Fantastic, let's go check that door, but before we do? Would it benefit you to be completely silent except for your voice for the next seven hours. I would not muffle your voice otherwise your spellcasting is impeded. If it will not benefit you then I will save the magic for other uses."

The Dwarven Ruins - DM Surranó - 06-18-2016

Ooc two hundred pounds of canned Dwarven bacon sneaking around like an incorporeal shadow. I would go for it. Smile

RE: The Dwarven Ruins - DM Surranó - 06-20-2016

OOC - I leave Torin's decision about the dampened steps for later.
Also, made things a little bit faster by presuming your next actions to reduce turnaround time. Hope you don't mind.

The door opens in a similar fashion as the other one downstairs, keeping the key safe and secure while the door is open.
Behind the door is a room some 20 by 30 feet with broken stone furniture scattered around. In the far corner there are remains of another dwarven priest, wearing the same ceremonial robe as the one near the stone portal.

The desiccated corpse is devoid of all life. The priest was locked here, apparently against his own will. He wears a necklace made of a series of stone beads the size of walnuts and just as with the other priest, he has a double scroll case containing two scrolls. Torin carefully examines them and identifies as the cleric spell Slow poison and the druid spell Rusting grasp.
Poking through the rubble, Portho finds an intact vial which they identify as a Potion of Healing (OOC - Cure Light Wounds, caster level 1)

- I think it will not benefit for me at now, because there are no trees, rocks, so I couldn't hide behind something. But later it will be an exciting experience.

OOC - I don't mind the faster turnaround and maybe you are in a TP situation. I also made things a little bit faster. There is no such spell in DnD3.5 as Slow Poison. Do you mean Delay Poison?

- I will take the scrolls. The potion is yours.
OOC - @Portho: If you didn't updated you Character Sheet then do it now. (Our DM is very captious about this.)

Torin casts a Detect Magic spell and tries to found some illusion wall, secret door. He examines the stone bead necklace also.

- I think this is the key for the portal.

If they didn't find anything interesting, then they go outside, get back the adamantine key and go back to the three door with three gargoyles head.

- Do you want go outside or come with me through the portal? I think this will be a one way trip.

OOC - Let me assume Portho will come with Torin.

Torin tries the key in the other two holes also (turn the key a second time to the same direction again). He wants to get back his key while the door(s) remain open.

OOC - I he couldn't achieved his goal.

Torin closes the doors. Get back the key and says:

- Hold my hand I will cast a Dimenson Door spell.
OOC - He releases his concentration (Detect Magic).

They will arrive to the front of stone door (aka portal) and he uses the stone bead necklace to activate it.
