[OOC] Return to the Rusty Rat

Which reminds me. I think I saw some word about dire animals in wild shape but can't recall where and in what form (allowed? disallowed? conditional? specific to some prestige class?). A dire bat would certainly open new perspectives...

As far as I know, Druids can turn into any animal including Dire animals.  They can't turn into magical beasts without prestige class or maybe a feat.  But both aren't core so for now Toot is suck with animals and unless I missed something, dire animals.

Hrm...Allosaurus? Dire Ape? Rhino? How are any of those in the least bit sucky?

There are no Dinosaurs in Surano's game.  Rhino's are best when they have space to charge.  Gotta love double damage!  Big Grin But it wouldn't have been much use in cramped tunnels unless everyone stepped out of the way.  Good luck asking Silent Giant to wait. Tongue   And Dire Ape happens to be one of the creature's I'm considering spending most of Toot's time in.  That or Dire Bat.

It's funny how Ape and Dire Ape are both large.  Gee I wonder which one I'm going to turn into...  Confused

Dire Ape, even without Celestial tied to it, is awesome. Like a barbarian with more strength and a better grapple capability. Also, Dire Squid are pretty awesome if there are any of those.

And with a Dire Ape I can wear all my equipment. Big Grin   There doesn't seem to be any Dire Squids in Core.  There are Giant Squids but they're Huge so too big for Toot.  Giant Octopus is Large but both these critters require water.

Actually Toot was going to turn into a crocodile then cast Magic Fang on himself and share it with Boo when we were fighting those skeletons but the battle ended before he could wildshape.  So far I think he's only turned into a badger and eagle.  But likely he spent a lot of time in bear form between Lv1 to Lv7 because he could talk to and train Boo easier.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
