Missing Caravan

"i'll lower you down. That way I can cover you while you check the wagons.

She ponders tying the rope into a noose, but then shakes her head at the thought. She hands Mardak the opposite end of the rope and checks the knots tied to Beast's pack saddle.

"Loop this around your waist. I will let you down slowly.. she says with a smirk.

'Can never tell with this woman.'

"You're no fun."  Then notices her shaking her head and smirking "You are a tricky woman.  That's why I like you."  As she lets him down slowly he says in a whisper only she can hear "Tally-Ho!"

If Mardak isn't a splat mark on the ground he takes a look around.

With the rope around Mardak's waist, Beast begins lowering him down the side of the gorge.  The mule easily handles his weight and soon Mardak is dangling in front of a wagon.

Looking at the wagons, Mardak can see some blood spattered on the wood.  There was obviously some kind of battle.  You can also see burnt into the wood, Lavandar Falls Trading Company.

[OoC: What exactly are you looking for?]

Meanwhile inside the Guard house, Selena calls upon Selune to heal the guard and instantly she feels her goddess' divine power surge through her and into the man.  In seconds most of his wounds begin to knit back together and heal.  Slowly opening his eyes he's startled to see you all and for a moment tried to weakly scurry away.  After you reassure him that you are not there to harm him, his body relaxes.

Jonath asks his question and the guard replies, "It happened so fast.  One minute we were enjoying a bit of supper and before I knew what was happening, the locked door swung open and then a spear sprouted out of my gut.  I managed to see the room get swarmed by Kobolds just before everything went black!"

Carefully leaning over the edge of the ravine, Betimi calls down,

"Be careful!  Untie yourself and look for survivors first, I'll cover you!"

"I think I found our wagon.  Lavandar Falls Trading Company."  Mardak continues searching and takes Betimi's advice and untiies himself.  Mardak looks for survivors.

Selina leans in and takes a measure of the man as he slowly heals.  She keeps her hand away from the still-healing wound, but gently asks

"Sir, were there any survivors that you know of?"

It would mean worlds to her if there were.  She would make these kobolds pay the consequences if not.

The guard replies, "Thank you for your healing? Moon Maiden. Sadly I was knocked uncosious early in the attack so I'm not sure who survived." He looks around at his murdered companions and adds, "There were five of us so that leaves two guards missing. They could be alive."

Meanwhile, Mardak unties himself and starts rummaging through the wagon. Pulling back a tarp he's startled to find another murdered guard with a crushed skull from what appears like an impact from three solid bullet sized objects but there is no ammunition present. Mardak is about to call up to Betimi when he hears a buzzing noise that's rapidly getting louder.

[OoC: Mardak and Betimi make spot checks. Mardak make a spellcraft check.]

"Stay here then and rest. We will see what we can find of the others," Jonath tells the guard. He then leaves the guard shack and, seeing Betimi peering into the gorge, he joins her to see what they might have discovered.

Selina purses her lips as she stays beside the recovering guard.

"Do you know if any civilians were killed, or taken?"

(Sense Motive, to make sure he's not hiding anything.  I know, why would he, but still...I need to get some rolling in)

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
