OoC thread
wait...ok, I think I might have vastly underestimated how many skill points Selina has.

(2+Int+1Human+1favored)x4 is 16 at first level.
2+1+1 at second level
2+1 at third level
2+1+1 at fourth level
that's 27 skill points. Her sheet only shows 21.

You are correct.  You should have 27 skill points.

Congrats on your nice HP roll.  Smile

I have made a slight edit to the house rules thread.  Nothing has changed.  I just wanted to highlight some rules that were important when leveling up so everyone was on the same page.

Hit points [1d6+1] = 2+1 = 3
so instead getting 4hp+1hp for Con = 5

Hit points 4th level [1d4+2] = 2+2 = 4
so 3+2=5 it is, I guess.
Increase stat: Con 14->15 (I guess I increased Cha last time)
Skills: 2 sor +2 int +1 human +1 favoured = 6 so I should have 6x6 = 36 skill points spent at 3rd level +6 now. However, I had only 32 before, for some reason did not take +4 points for first level favoured class.
Also, corrected K.Geo corrected from 4 to 3 (marked as 2+1ve on sheet to amend for able learner) since it can't be more than half rank, even with able learner.
Thus, assigning 11 = 6+4+1 points total now as follows
Bluff 1 to 6
Concentration 6 to 7
Dec.scr 2 to 3 (2+1ve)
Dip 2 to 3 (2+1ve)
K.Arcana 6 to 7
Spellcraft 6 to 7
UMD 1 to 2 (1+1ve)

+1 will, +1 bab
spells known: +1 cantrip (Message), +1 second level, in order of preference (choose one you allow, please)
- ice knife, cold bloodline, +1 damage per die, Spell compendium (https://dnd.arkalseif.info/dndtools/spel...ife--3883/)
- ice darts, cold bloodline, +1 damage per die, Frostburn (https://dnd.arkalseif.info/dndtools/spel...rts--1254/)
- scorching ray, fire heritage +2 CL, PHB
Alternatively, if party would prefer, I can pick up some buff to support party, e.g. Invisibility.

Charsheet updated accordingly.

[I'm sorry my posting slowed again.  This time I slipped and I pulled something in my back while shoveling at work.  Since I work alone through the night, I need to keep the ramps clear of snow so the wheelchairs can get out if there is a fire.  I've been lucky the last few years as my shifts seemed to avoid any heavy snowfall.  This year has been the total opposite.   Sad   I will get caught up soon though. ]

Has everyone finished updating their characters?

I want to be sure what you mean.  It just says:  All skill ranks cost 1 skill point for you to purchase, even if the skill is cross-class for you. The maximum number of ranks you can purchase in a cross-class skill remains the same.

Able learner is saying for cross classed skills the maximum rank is half what class skills would be.

Maybe that's what you meant when you said, "Can't be more than half rank."  I just want to be sure we are on the same page.

all done
Quote this message in a reply
Only Betimi has stated she is done but it's been a while so I'm going to continue.

Not yet done, waiting for feedback on ice knife.
And yep, that's what I meant. 4th level = max 7 ranks class, max 3 ranks cross-class.

EDIT: seems only my level was not updated, everything else (incl hp) seems to be 4th level already.
also added two favourite spells to sig.

I've been looking at the hiding rules and what I keep seeing is when hiding you have to have either cover or concealment.  You can have Cover or Concealment from some opponents and not others.  In this case the creature moved into a position where Ning didn't have either.  IF the creature had flew down and breathed in any other direction then right in Ning's face, I could see how the mephit might not have noticed him before Ning's action.  It would be like you hiding around a corner and someone might not noticing you while walking past the corner.

I did realize that the other creature who breathed onto the group didn't spot Ning.  So the creature should have a 50% miss chance because Ning is basically invisible.

Everyone feel free to weigh in on your perspective.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
