[OoC ahh my misunderstanding wasn't aware we were using the roll20 map for combat so wasn't even looking for an opponent on it]

The web section that was alight burns down and reveals that fire extended to another section of webbing. The flames and the web still obscure vision but the bison charges in as commanded, attempting to break through the web and tears the web apart as the flames engulf it, causing 7 points of fire damage. The effort broke its charge (ooc - the str check cost it a standard action) but the web, torn to pieces, no longer hides its master.
The spider, expecting some prey to approach, jabs at the bison and bites it. Poison burns through the bison's body but the stout mammal shrugs off the threat. Meanwhile, Torin moves closer. Portho's turn! Note: the fire still burns for a round so entering / passing through implies fire damage. Remember that the spider is in melee when resolving ranged attacks (-4 attack unless you have precise shot) and also have cover from the wall but the web no longer stops arrows.

Portho moves forward to beside Torin (moved token on Roll20), and while continuing his oration, attempts to fire another arrow at the spider, missing widely as the spider and bison shuffle for position.

Getting into the groove the vermin jabs at the bison again (-3hp).
Torin's turn.

Torin drops his morning star to the ground, takes a javelin and tries to attack the spider, but he misses it.
The bison attacks and misses also (OOC - I used my roll (attack: 11) from the previous turn). Portho's turn! (I think.)

Realizung his attacks will be fairly ineffectual, Portho contues his rousing tale [granting all allies, including the bison +1 to attack and weapon damage]. While he does that he tries to scrape at the webbing binding Torin to the floor.
[Hoping that it is similar to tanglefoot bag and can be scraped away]]

OOC - Torin has already escaped the web, no further ill effects other than being icky top to toe.
OOC - In my interpretation "weapon" includes natural weapons and unarmed strikes etc. Even nonlethal ones. I believe the intent behind the rule is to exclude spells and other effects that have damage. So while inspire competence adds +1 to ray spells it doesn't increase their damage. |
