Missing Caravan
"W'alright then"  He stands and sniffs, thinkin' his charms were not up to snuff.  Couldn't be the stack of human firewood nearby or anything.  "Good job 'lina, good job..."  He steps out of the room.

Once out of the room.  "What y'all looking at!  Confound it all..."

In truth, Mardak was a diplomatic marvel in his younger days, just not now.

[OoC confused here.. did mardak actually stack the unconscious people?]

((Messed up the context again, sorry. Meant the Knights and all Knights are dunderheads. Yes Mardak started carting the bodies just outside the room, not outside the cave. Still being a monumental task especially on the inside of a minute, the time it takes to do a diplomacy check, which Selina is doing regardless of the odds.))

[OoC: we can assume he started but he was stopped by one of the more level headed characters in the group.

And for the record, Tomeal is not a knight and he didn't make any oath to specifically save these people. OoC I suggested some class options but that was OoC. The only oath he currently has is to help the party. Which he's doing.

I would also like to mention that we have a new player starting soon!!!]

Jonath rushes toward the girl, but stands by while Selina checks her over for injuries. While she does so, he rummages in his pack, pulling out a small trinket. As Selina finishes her exam and Mardak moves away, Jonath approaches slowly. "Hello, I'm Jonath," he says calmly to the girl, "Would you mind if I stay with you while Miss Selina here goes to help the others? She's a healer, and we need her to help them. I have a little something you might like," he says, holding up his hand, on which rests a small metal bird. With his other hand he twists a small crank on its back and the bird flutters its wings and begins to twitter softly, its beak moving in time to the sounds. Jonath moves closer, within reach of the girl, continuing to hold it out to her. "You may hold it," he says gently with a nod toward the toy, but remains still, leaving it for the girl to decide if she wants to reach out, or simply watch it from where she is.

"Mardak, until they are roused, these people are probably safer in the beds than they are out in the room among the dead kobolds. Unless of course there is some magic in the room making them slumber. But then we, and the child, would be affected"

While Jonath rummages through his pack, the girl continues to hug Selina tightly.  She watches him while sniffling and whimpering in fear.  But when he pulls out the wonderful toy she watches it flutter and her crying slows down.  Soon she almost seems hypnotized by the bird.  When Jonath says she can hold it, she hesitantly holds out her hand and allows him to place the toy upon it.

Then everyone hears Mardak talking to someone out in the hallway.

"Hey buddy, how are you?"
"Sure I'll help you talk to my friends."

Mardak then walks into the room with a smile and says, "My friend here wants to talk to you guys but he's a little shy.  Do you mind if he does?  No?  Ok..."  He peeks out the door and adds, "Come on, they won't harm you."

Seconds later a Green Kobold wearing rusty colored leather steps into view.  While the creatures eyes dart back and forth between all of you, as if ready for any sudden attacks, it then carefully bows and states in perfect common, "Be not afraid friends.  I mean you no ill harm."

Mardak continues to smile at his new found friend.  The little girl doesn't seem bothered by the Kobold either.

[OoC: Mardak failed his save vs Charm Person so now he views the Kobold as a trusted friend and ally and precieves its words and actions in the best possible way.

[Firstly... I have asked for people that have an issue with something like this to please PM me which you have yet to do.  We have all spoken about me, the DM, making rolls for players to speed up play and everyone was fine with it.  So I will be making some rolls to speed up play and if you don't like it then you don't have to play.  You are free to look at the rolls I've made today to see if I cheated but I don't cheat.

Second, OBVIOUSLY the group will know something happened to you because you're being rational and reasonable.  Two traits Mardak has never shown.  That doesn't mean they are going to rush to your defense when you've been so miserable to everyone.  In fact, the party might want to shake the Kobold's hand.  So if they do decide to rush to judgement and attack then that's up to them and not because YOU think or imply that they should do so...

Third, See your PM. ]

When the kobold appears, Jonath adjusts his position slightly to place himself between it and the girl, but otherwise makes no move. Its presence was suspicious, but as it has spoken its peaceful intent, seems to be alone and has done nothing hostile as of yet, Jonath has no reason to be hostile himself. Mardak's behavior seemed strange, but the man was...erratic at the best of times, so it was hard to decipher what, if anything, that may mean.

"What is it that you want, then?" he asks, his voice neutral.

[OoC:Throwing out a Sense Motive check, partly of myself, and in case it helps determine anything about the kobold's words or actions.
Sense Motive:[1d20+1] = 15+1 = 16]

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
