[IC] New Crobuzon & the World Beyond
[[Selina will stop near Tomeal. My understanding of Spider Climb is that it turns the walking speed into the Climb speed. They’re actually walking on walks and ceilings like a spider rather than actually climbing.]]

[[Also, can’t remember if it was mentioned, but Selina activates Stone Power every single turn she does not attack.]]

Selina stops beside Tomeal.  He gives her a wink of support as the light illuminates a couple of the critters.  You all are not quite sure what you're seeing.  Clinging to the wall are a pair of hideous tiny creatures with the bodies of insects and heads of infants.  Their faces have greyish flesh with long fangs that hang over their bottom lips, and glowing sickly yellow eyes.  Over and over they repeat, "Mama... Mama... Mama..."

Elphaba smiles and gestures in the creature's direction.
Will Save: [1d20+0]=14+0=14; add creature's Save mod; Failure!

One of the tiny beast's eyes widen in terror.  It attempts to back away from some invisible force...
Fort Save: [1d20+0]=11+0=11; add creature's Save mod; Failure!

The tiny beast shrieks in adjunct terror and as you spot the the hellish light flicker in its eyes it detaches from the wall and falls into the blackness of the pit.

[Crozar is in darkness so he is the only person not able to see the creatures but if he moves downward 5' he will move back into Selina's light and be able to see them.]

Crozar's turn!

Then it's Ning/Nang, Betimi and Kubo's turns!

Kubo will move as far as he is allowed down the stairs, while readying a crossbow attack for when he can see something for which he can shoot at.

[OoC: You don't need to move.  The lower critter is about 30' away from Kubo.]

[OoC: Well in that case]
MW Light Crossbow Attack: [1d20+8]=11+8=19
[OoC: that figures]
Light Crossbow Damage = [1d8]=1

[[I get the feeling these things don't have the best AC. Could be wrong though.]]

Crozar advances down the steps to try to shield Elphaba somewhat from the acid spitting abominations.  The Cactacae aimed and fired its Rivebow, while directing the summoned elemental [OOC: which is missing from the map, btw], "Spark of Sunshad, bless us with Daylight!"

Rivebow: [1d20+3]=13+3=16, Damage: [2d6]=6

[OoC: I'm sorry if I've forgotten something.  It's been so long I literally forgot how to do Armor Class!  Blush  So if I have forgotten something please point it out and I will make changes in the next post]

Crozar advances down the stairs to the only spot available - between Kubo and Tegab.  He peaks over the edge of the stairs, takes aim and fires.  The buzzsaw-like disc wizzes down the shaft.  At the last moment the tiny creature manages to skitter on it's insect legs a few inches, but it's still not enough to totally avoid the blade.  The flying disc slices down the side of its body causing the critter to shriek in pain!

[Rivebow:  HIT!; 6 damage!]

The elemental prepares to cast its Daylight spell but with no object available to it to cast the spell on it looks to Crozar for instructions...

[Crozar still has time to tell the elemental what to target with the spell.  Since this is the first time that you're using this ability, I will even let you drop something before you moved.]

[It's now Ning/Nang, Betimi and @Kubo's turns.] [Kubo posted an attack but I will allow him to change (or keep) his action since you posted before I could resolve Crozar's action.  Don't forget to choose a target. I've added numbers to the critters you can see.  If Kubo moves like his post says he does he will be in the same spot as the dog.  Dog should actually be behind Betimi.  I will make those changes in the next post too.  Rolleyes ]

[And I forgot to make adjustments to Crozar's and the elemental's position on the right map...  Rolleyes  Those changes will appear in the next post.]

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
