Ulfgar - The best of Rat Stew. Wait What!? (Chapter One)
#51
Stopping for a moment and glancing over his shoulder, he realized the barkeep meant him and his companion and allowed a wide grin to split his bearded face, Drinks good sir, we be needin' good ale an plenty o' it. He said, slapping down a gold coin, our friend'll be joinin' us soon.

After about four ales a piece, the elf and human return with smiles on their faces.

Henry sits down and his eyes light up at the sight of a large ale waiting for him, "A, Perfect! Thes can fill you guys in on the  details, but we got the go ahead for the heading into the ruin, along with a bonus job on top of it." With that he gulped down his ale and promptly ordered another.

Thesius sat down, "We meet up with the local general merchant. A lady who had dealings with our last employer so he recommended us to her. Apparently there is a rescue mission to be had on top of figuring out the source of a supposed apple that grows in the old ruin." And he continues telling the details of the mission and their dealings with the locals.

(DM- Tell me if Ulfgar actually pays attention to the Elf's story or does it just turn into mumbling, lol.)

Sitting there enjoying his ale, Ulfgar's mind kind of wandered off for a bit, as Moradin and Clanggedin began rumbling around in his skull about riches under the mountain and other such glorious dwarvish tales. When he finally looked up at Thes, he noticed that he'd been speaking and simply nodded his head in acknowledgement.

Before Ulfgar knew it, he was waking up to the rocking and jostling of laying in a obvious wagon.  He heard Reg's high laughter, "Morning sunshine!"
The halfing shook his head, "Yolanda's perky tits you're heavy.  Took all three of us to get your snoring ass into the wagon."

Ulfgar and his group pulled to a stop at the top of a ruined tower, that's all Ulfgar could really make out from it.  Everything else was a slight blur as his companions poked around the top.  Apparently they had to take a rope down into the ruins, which suited Ulfgar just fine.  He knew how to climb well enough.

They climbed down to the first landing of what surely had to be the sunken fortress.  Everything was going just fine until a horrid chorus of squeaks filled the ears of everyone.  Rats, HUGE Rats the size of dogs rushed everyone.  TWO not one but TWO of the little bastards rushed Ulfgar and barreled into him before he could even get his axe up! Before he knew what was happening he was tumbling off the first platform down into the dark ravine where the fortress had fallen.

The last thing he remembered was hitting the ground, hard, two horrifying squeaking screeches, then darkness.

{The End}

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
