The First Mission - (Chapter 1)
#21
Perception: 1d100 84

Laughing at Aaron, Khayman didn't notice the arrival of the others, instead he sipped from his mug of coffee and considered Aaron's words before responding, Honestly, you lost me, but the gist of the response is suitable.

Aaron went back to contemplating his place in the universe, which currently seemed to rest at the bottom of the pancake stack.

---Marcus---

After Marcus loaded up on a stack of pancakes, he notices the new military guy enter. Then he Noticed Lyn and Meris slipping into the mess hall looking like they had just spotted something entertaining. Which was never good.

He gave a soft huff and shook his head.  Was that new guy one of the High Command? He'd have to ask the Sarge. When he noticed Lyn and Meris slip into the cafeteria he gave a deep sigh. Hopefully they didn't feel like messing with them today. That was all he needed.  On the flip side, he hoped they had sense enough to leave the new important looking fellow alone. The higher-ups barely tolerated Psi-Stalkers. He'd grown up with them, so he …well - had an attachment to them.  Though it was ..complicated. Still he didn't want them getting in trouble.

Once he had a good stack of pancakes with maple syrup he made his way back to the table.

Viego got up to go get more food. He was deep in thought about a large stack of bacon, and wrapping pancakes around it.

Nolan eyes the two psi-stalkers, who are so obviously stalking him, as they have no business in a cafeteria otherwise. Knowing they would have a similar job to his own assignment, and knowing that they had been here longer, he decided to take advantage of whatever knowledge they might have.

Boldly looking across his steaming cup of coffee at the two women, he makes eye contact, then calmly beckons them to approach with a calm beckoning gesture of his hand.

It was time to pull rank, before they got ideas.

Viego stands up just in time to see Meris slip up behind Khayman.  She put her hand on the big man's shoulder, "Morning Sarge!"  She startles him so badly that Khayman literally jumps out of his seat and almost hits the floor but manages to keep his feet.  Chuckles erupt around the mess hall.  They've done this a few times to all of you already.  They particularly enjoy startling Sarge. It was like they just appeared out of thin air sometimes.

Lyn bursts into laughter just behind Aaron, While she doesn't scare the life out of him, he almost chokes on his food before swallowing in a hard gulp.

Viego seeing everything about to happen didn't get overly startled, but the way these women always moved was unnerving.

Marcus, shaking his head, sits down just a Khayman's eyes look like they are about to pop out of his head.  From fright or irritation it was hard to tell.

Lyn smiles and glances at the boy's all at once and her voice drops into a no nonsense serious whisper.  The shift in her demeanor was very obvious to all four men as she face just them. "Meet us immediately after breakfast.  No Questions."

Then before Khayman could give them a good yelling, they both turned and walked toward a table that looked to have only one man at it.  An officer from his uniform.

---Nolan---

The two Psi-Stalkers approach the boys table apparently pranking them.  Looks like they scared their sergeant out of his wits and cackling about the whole thing.  After a moment they turned and walked toward Nolan's table.

"Can we help you …sir."

The other Psi-stalker doesn't say anything. She just sits down and gives him a soft smile before reaching over and gently picking up his cup of coffee to take a sip of it. She does it with such a deliberate silky motion, it was almost as though Nolan were trapped in watching her and couldn't bring himself to protest. She then set the cup down and slid it back over to him. "Needs more sugar."

His heart pounding in his chest, the big man closed his eyes and focused on his breathing for a moment, his right hand shaking as it moved slowly toward the sidearm at his hip. Normally Khayman just kept his distance from the disturbing mutants, he even scolded some of the other human soldiers when they spoke ill of or to them, but at the moment, he was feeling the need release some pent anger and the idea of murder didn't seem so bad. Slowly though, he withdrew his hand, which hovered near to his holstered pistol and simply allowed his frustration to exit him with a deep baritone growl.

I know they serve a purpose, but at this moment, the idea of hanging their heads from wall of my quarters is awfully enticing.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
