Niall nodded as she spoke, "It is lucky that fewer people were here than usual. I'm thankful for that. I hope Gloom recovers too." He tilted his head in the Professor's direction, "If there is anything that I could do to help her, I would be happy to do so.  I just don't know what everyone else is going to feel about me given that I apparently mindlessly attacked some of them.  What is the conversation like?  Are they mad?"

Gloom was never infected by the Virus.  She was with you when the Hellfire's Club was attacked.  You escaped by turning into a blob, and she escaped by turning herself into a Spirit Form.  Aurum allowed Gloom to possess her and now they can switch who's in control of the body and they each have their own powers. ]

"A couple.  But it's the usual suspects.  Jessica as usual is being pretty crabby and Ben, well he's one of the youngest here so he was pretty upset he was forced to hurt someone.  He ran away but we got him back.  Saleem says he's fine.  I'm not sure about Trevor.  He might have been the most changed.  The virus changed him from an introvert to an aggressive extrovert.  So much so that he be stopped hiding things he had kept hidden.  Like, umm, well you're going to hear about this anyways, so...  Trevor is gay now.  And he has no problem telling or showing the world.  So, I expect when the virus starts to go away, he's going to be pretty embarrassed."

Niall looked surprised at the announcement and said, "Really?!  That's interesting isn't it Professor?  Everyone else impacted seems to have had a elevated emotional response, maybe due to the undercurrent of panic that I had in that form.  But for it to change someone's sexual inclination is pretty extreme.  It sounds like he wouldn't take it well, but I'm betting that the dramatic flip in his emotional base just let him come out of the closet."  As he talks he takes a treat out of the bag that Graffiti brought and chews, talking around the food. "It will the fascinating to see if a) he reverts to the same introvert he was before and b) how he deals with this reveal he made 'under the influence' as it were.  I need my notebook." He glances around, both to see if his notebook was at hand and to see what Xavier's reaction to this reveal would be.

"I think he's always been gay.  He's just been in the closet.  I think that's why he was so introverted.  But the virus seemed to have reversed those feelings so he just didn't care anymore.  I guess in a way it was a good thing.  No one should be scared to be who they are.  But he will probably be embarrassed that the virus caused him to reveal something so personal.  Especially since he has been flirting with many of male students very aggressively."

Niall chuckled and said, "I'm sure that's awkward for everyone."  He took another bite of the snacks Graffiti had brought and said, "The Professor said that until everything shakes out I'm assigned to a new private room.  Want to check it out with me?"  It took a couple of seconds for what he said to sink in and he immediately flushed red with embarrassement. "N-Not that I mean anything by that, you know!" he stammered out, running a hand through his short hair.

While listen to his students catch up, the Professor smiles to himself and hoped the other students would be equally as welcoming.  Niall had not lived at the mansion for very long before he left with the White Queen so he didn't have much time to bond with the other students.  The Professor thought it possible Ashley was more friendly due to their time when Nanny and Orphan Maker attacked the mansion.  Several students including Niall, Ashley (Graffiti), Johnny (Interface), and Demi (Gloom), were turn into children.  In her mentally addled perception, Nanny believes that parents of mutant children are evil, especially those who abandon their children, or at the very least incompetent and ill-equipped to properly raise and protect young mutants from danger and exploitation. She and Orphan-Maker travelled the world, searching for young mutants to take care of, murdering their parents to sever any family connections, and using her minor telepathic powers to control her new charges. Nanny dubbed these children her "Lost Boys and Girls", after the Lost Boys from the story of Peter Pan; in her psychosis, Nanny had developed a near-obsession with children's tales and nursery rhymes, often quoting passages from them appropriate (in her mind) to the situation at hand.  Unfortunately for Nanny, the 4 students got away from her and basically terrorized her long enough for the older students to defeat Orphan Maker and rescue them.

"That would be a good idea," The Professor chimes in when Niall mentions going to his room.  "Ashley, It may be only for tonight but can you show Niall to one of the guest rooms.  I'm still waiting on Jack's decision to decide which dorm Niall will be assigned to.  I like to have students paired up.  If Jack leaves then Malcolm will have a bed open in his room.   If he stays then we will have to put three students in one of the larger room."
