Rupert draws the longsword from its sheath on his back, and moves in front of the door about 1ft back, and takes up a guard pose, and says "I WILL WATCH THIS DOORWAY AND THE HALLWAY UNTIL THE HOLD IS AIRED OUT AND IT IS SAFER TO ENTER THE HOLD"

All of you are experience spacers and recognize that the air in the main deck is as fresh as it's going to be.  The smell is not indicative of hazardous air, just the local moist conditions, almost like a lizardfolk ship may have features included specifically to foster a swampy kind of smell.

Melville finishes casting Detect Magic, then moves to the doorway and concentrates on the spell. Looking at first the door to the left, then the right, then furtrher down the hallay toward the lizardfolk corpse.

Neither of the doors given any magical indicators.  The halberd radiates faintly, as does the bag on the corpses hip.

Rupert will step over the thresh hold into the hallway and gestures to Mellville and Bazz to determine wich door they wish him to move towards first.

Bazz will first spruce up the room with multiple Prestigitations to sweep away any dust, cobwebs, etc.  Then he will begin searching for traps along the floors and walls.  He doubted he'd find any but the detect magic ritual would take awhile so he should have the time.

Once the Detect Magic is done, Melvcille will assist Bazz in searching the left most door first, then the right.. Granting advantage.

There is not much dust or cobwebs to clear, although you do fix some minor pulls and such in the burlap covering the left door.  In doing your cleanup, you confirm that there is definitely fresh air blowing gently through the burlap over the door.  You do also clear up the wet shimmery streaks on the floor nearest the door you came in from.  You do not find any traps.
