Conversations under the stars {OOC Thread}

Fortunately I'm doing the playout in Roll20, so I had a record of all the rolls and such.  makes it easy to do map updates too.  It was just the retype of everything.

With that xp rewrd we level!
Rupert will take another level of monk, which gives him access to
Ki (2points) : Flurry of Blows, Patient Defence, and Step of the Wind
Unarmored Movement :+10 to move
HP: Monk HP Level =[1d8+1] = 3+1 = 4, so minium Monk HP =5 +1(CON)=6

You might want to wait until the GM says we actually level.. It is generally up to the GM if you auto level, or must train.

Go ahead and level yourself, it's fine.

Adding a level of Warlock.  Probably my last level.  The rest will most likely be Bard.
Hit points: [1d8] = 2Dodgy

So I guess minimum is 5?  Plus Con = 8

Adding Invocations:
  • Agonizing Blast: Which adds Charisma Mod (+4 ) to Eldritch Blasts
  • Devil's Sight: Gives me the ability to see in normal or magical darkness up to 120'
Spell:  Any suggestions?  Protection from Evil and Good?  Shield?

Shield is always a handy defensive spell to have on hand. Comprehend languages is also a good one (can't remember if you have that already, but you probably do), or Expeditious Retreat.

Armor of Agathys could be interesting, but only if you see being more melee involved in the future.
Knowing that you are going into the Flow, Create Bonfire could be a fun self-destruct mechanism, especially for just a cantrip, although I can't remember if you can swap a cantrip also.
Thunderwave would also give you a decent AoE option.
Witch bolt plays well with the ongoing hex nature of your warlock focus.

Did we ever establish exactly whom your Fey patron was?  Although if you are looking to go bard from here on out, that may not be a an area you are interested in expanding further.

I don't have a Fey Patron.  I have HexBlade.

Since as a Hexblade I am a little more melee focused, I need to watch spells that require concentration.  Not only because when I'm in melee they could be disrupted but I believe I can only have 1 concentration spell going at a time so having a bunch of spells that require concentration would be kind of a waste unless they're spells too good to pass up.

I suggested Pro from Evil because it protects from charm effects or allows a new save at an advantage, which is nice.

Thunderwave: (Is the area of Effect just in the squares adjacent to me or is it directable, like I point north and a 15' cube north of me gets hit? )

Oh right, the blade is the patron.

Thunderwave is a 15 foot cube originating from you, so it is 15 feet in every direction for you.

As I suspect there may be some OOC questions about the Fragment of Shattered Fractine, I'll go ahead and post the description here to make that convo a little easier.

Quote:This item is a Fragment of Shattered Fractine.  This fragment of bent and reflective reality can act as an arcane focus for divination or transmutation spells.  A caster can use the mirror to target spells, both ritual and combat.  Any spell attack targeted via the shard suffers disadvantage on that attack but the caster may choose to apply one or more of the following effects to the attack: 1) target an additional target, 2) double the range of the spell, or 3) give the target(s) disadvantage on any related saves from the spell.  Any spell cast via the shard must check for a wild surge (1 in 20).  Each effect added to the spell from above adds 4 to the target number for this check (i.e. adding a target will trigger a wild surge on a roll for 1-5.  Adding a target and giving disadavantage to targets would trigger a wild surge on a roll of 1-9.)  If a wild surge is triggered, the triggering spell is wholly consumed by the surge and produces only the surge effect, unless the effect simply modifies some aspect of the spell.  Any divination spell cast via the shard has a small chance that specifics of the divination may be twisted or obscured, the more detailed the divination the more likely some aspects will be altered.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
