Missing Caravan
She watches as Mardak races off ahead before she could even speak.

Confusing man... He does push himself despite grave weakness, perhaps he may be brave enough... NO I am not in season!! Why would you say that...

She gathers the rope up, coils it on Beast's pack saddle, and begins to lead Beast across the span of the bridge, hoping to keep Mardak within range in case anything attacks him.

Jonath joins Mardak in crossing the bridge, his eyes constantly scanning the other side as they go, wary that the attackers (or other threats) may still be lurking.

Selina is past responding to Mardak's quips at this point. Her lips are firmly clenched around her tongue again as her old neurosis again pops up at an inopportune moment. She follows, not the most observant of the group and certainly not experiencing any great interest in looking around at this point.

[OoC: When I said Jonath sees the dock on the other side of the bridge, I meant the other side of the bridge on THIS side of the gorge.  So the bridge spans across the gorge east to west.  But Jonath is searching on the south side when he spots the stem of the ship in the water on the north side of the bridge.  So you don't need to cross the bridge.  You just need to go across the road to the other side.   Does that make sense?  ]

Those of you exploring the dock on the other side of the bridge, pass the guard house and walk across the road.  You're standing on the road, beside the open gate to the bridge.  On the other side you see another smaller road that leads down a steep hill some 150' until it reaches the dock.  You quickly walk toward the dock and both Jonath and Betimi notice more small reptilian tracks in the soft earth of the hill.  They appear to run up and down the hill and even past the dock, into the deep brush beyond.

The wooden dock set upon stone pillars seem sturdy.  The local authority must keep up with its maintenance just as it does with the bridge.  The stem of the boat sticks out of the water a few feet and is located about 10' from the dock.

"looks as if the  creatures that attacked both came from yonder bushes and returned there, should we pursue them or check the boat first?"

"Well, whatever doesn't turn me into a pin cushion.  I'll be good with."  Mardak moves towards the boat.

"Careful, that water is fairly deep if only the stern is sticking up. And I doubt jumping across is stable. How good a swimmer are you?"

She looks at the rope coiled on Beast.

"Might I suggest having a lifeline tethered to someone on shore that can haul you back in if need be?"

[OoC: Waits for Mardak to volunteer to dangle himself at the end of ANOTHER rope...   Tongue  ]

"Yeah gimme the rope and hold onto my hat please.  Don't eat it."  He attaches himself to the rope.  "What exactly am I looking for?"  Mardak asks as he unlatches his armor along with his sword and shield.  "So If I get eaten by Pirahnas or swallowed by a minnow, pray to my wife and daughter to take care of me."

Swim Check

[OoC: Ummm you rolled a 1 on your swim check. You drown. Next character! [emoji14] Joking! Man, you guys and your crappy rolls. [emoji14]]
.
[OoC: remember you have a few mules with you. You might try to drag it closer to the dock. Or tie a rope to the stem so Mardak could hang onto that rope while he has another rope tied to him. If you have 2 ropes... It's up to you.]

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
