[IC] A Stolen Land
"I'm well acquainted with Fey.  [ She has a campaign trait that gives her bonuses with fey]  and they have no natural resistance to illusion. Second, I don't plan to place the illusion close enough for sound to be much of an issue.  Third, any creature viewing an illusion have to either interact with the illusion, as in touch it or scrutinize it carefully because they suspect something is amiss.  My guess is these creatures are not intellectual giants and won't be suspecting an illusion.  Also, Elan has a spell called ghost sounds that if necessary will add more believably if it is required.  But if you have a better idea how about you offer it up.  I would happily entertain it."

[OoC: The DM just posted we can use Sense Motive to learn more about the kobolds.]

sense motive [1d20+4] = 5+4 = 9

"The kobolds actually seem to be honest so far, too scared of us to practice deception guess. Thefeyhave already seen us,  perhaps the illusion should replicate one of us returning alone, unarmed, sfter we withdraw out of sight of course."

Better than nothing. Let's do it.

Tushou's sense motive [1d20+5] = 19+5 = 24

"@Andra Petrescu will need to get into position.  And Valdi, how do you know the Mites have already seen us?"

[OoC: The Tree is enormous.  The DM stated:  The tree is absolutely massive, easily as tall as a warship is long, and far broader than any other tree any of you have ever encountered.  So we can witness this tree from a distance.  It also doesn't make sense that we would stand out in the open to be the possible target of arrows.  When Andra approached, she rolled a 27 for stealth.  I don't even see any mention of Andra noticing a lookout.]

[[There wasn't a lookout.  And at 27, Andra's stealth is superb.]]

ooc - what about sense motive checks?

The kobolds are being fairly truthful.  They don't actually want to go inside themselves, even though they seem to have been coerced into doing so by someone.  The appearance of a group of "big'uns" has changed the mathematics somewhat.  While they don't want to anger you all (you're bigger than they are and could easily squash them), they don't actually want to specifically ask you for help in this situation as bringing others into this little scuffle could have...other consequences.

"Totem shaped like beautiful white lizard creature.  Kobolds told it gift from great Gaknulak to protect tribe.  As long as tribe have totem, we protected from harm."

Who wants to go first in?

"Shall we try the  illusion?"

Nexendia will ask the Investigator to go hide closer to the tree while the rest of us hide [Take 20-which will take about 2 minutes]  When everyone is well hidden she will cast the illusion of a wounded peasant wearing brightly colored clothing, limping toward the tree.  She stops it about 50' away from the tree and have it stumble and fall to its knees.  Nex will then signal Andra to toss a stone at the tree to get the mite's attention.  She then waits, with her loaded crossbow in hand, to observe their response.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
