Escape from the Mines (Shunna Maza , Ubi Sunt & Callie)
[OoC: Ok, but that doesn't answer my question of how we are going to get him out of the hole without killing us.  Did he react when I dropped food to him through the grating?  Since Njon is standing by the controls to the massive doors, I assume opening the doors will allow the creature to escape. ]

Shunna will follow Njon down the hallway to the room that held the creature below it.  "So how do we plan to direct the creature in the direction of the guards.  It's angry and will likely wish to take out its frustrations on the closest creatures to it.  Meaning us.  Perhaps it has some understanding Basic.  If so, I might be able to convince it that we aren't here to harm it and its actual captors are down the hall."

Shunna peers down the hole but not close enough to be grabbed by the thing.  She readies her lighsaber to defend herself if it somehow does manage to grab for her. [Full defense]  Shunna then calls sweetly down the the beast in shushing tones to try to calm it enough to listen.

"Shhhhhhhh...  shhhhhhh.... we don't mean to harm you...  We want to help you get out."  If the creature doesn't try to grab her or it can't reach her, Shunna will take out some food and drop it down into the hole for it to east."

The creature shovels the food into its mouth and roars, then throws debris up at Shunna, which mostly gets stopped by the grate. Some of the detritus does make it through to spatter harmlessly on Shunna, though it reeks of rotting meat.

Njon hoots and points at the doors to the south, where the group came from.  [Bet you wish someone understood Talz, but no one does here]

[OoC: What's the size category for that creature?]

[OoC: I think Shunna can reach BC/14.]

Shunna will move to investigate what the Talz is pointing at.  When she reaches her destination she will peek around the corner.]

Runni9ng up to BC14 Shunna realizes that teh Talz is not gesturing down the hallway, but at the doors themselves, still quite intact and able to be closed from either side.

The creature is roughly 14 feet tall (size large)

Ubi soaks all of it in and comes to conclusion. "Shebs."  While Shunna and the Talz devise a plan to unleash the beast, Ubi thinks of a way to hide themselves from the enormous creature.  "You two, watch the hallway."  He says to Callie and the Zabrak.  Ubi then goes over to the red barrels and stabs one with his vibro knife to see what was inside. (assuming it wasn't labeled as highly explosive or flamable!?)

Ooh - Are the barrels or cargo crates moveable/manageable?  are they large enough to hide behind or inside of?

Ubi sees that the barrels are roughly 4 feet high by 2.5 feet across, meaning they should hold about 150 gallons of fluid volume each. Stabbing one he sees that it oozes a viscous dark brown fluid, with a pungent odour. That amount of fluid would easily weigh over 1100 lbs. per barrel. Not easy to move around.

Looking across the room the white barrels are even larger, being about 6 feet high by 3 feet across.  The large stacked crated are 5 feet wide, by 5 feet high, by 7 feet long. Crates and barrels both appear to be made of either plastics or plasteel.

There are small control panels on the ends of the crates, but Ubi would have to get closer to see whether they are just access panels or  repulsorlift controls.

"Are you trying to say that we should let the big guy out and we all hide behind the door?"  Shunna thinks about it and says, "The creature may not be clever enough to have any concept of doors.  If we open the doors just enough to slow it down, we could take that extra time to get away and close the door.  Hopefully the creature will just go down the hallway to distract those guards.  Is that what you're trying to say?"

The talz waves his arms and nods, obviously frustrated and wanting to hurry, but affirming that Shunna is correct. INjon points toward the heavy door in the floor, and you think maybe meaning the creature beyond it, then points at the passageway to the 'east' and the doors to it that are blasted half open, and uncloseable. Then he points at his chest and at the group with a wave of his arm and points at the 'south' doors and makes a shoosh sound that you think is meant to be the sound of a door closing.

Ooc - I'm confuzzled, the Talz wants us to open the door to the arena, releasing the creature, then we hide where?

Ooc - Can Ubi identify the fluid leaking from the barrel? Is it a potable or is it a fuel?

Ubi will activate the console on the now leaking barrel. Hopefully it will tell him what liquid is in the barrel and if it has a repulser lift he will direct it down the hallway towards the guards. (if it is filled with the creature's drink then hopefully it will follow the barrel, if it is flammable then it could blow up on the guards.)

The door to the arena is already open, the party never closed it. Njon seems to want the party to close it between them and teh creature, and let the creature run down the corridor with the broken doors, towards where the guards are waiting. Not sure how you got that confused lol.

You can attempt an UNTRAINED Knowledge: Physical Sciences to find out.

There is no console on the barrel. Re -read my post and look at the map. Tthere are consoles on the massive crates across the room.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
