[IC] Prologue: Frying Pan
#1
Nova and Rahallu enter into the Farron Prime Port office to let him know that the last pallet was on the way to the ship and to finalize the paperwork.  They had been in and out of this office several times today, but this time the Rodian Port officer seemed a little twitchy.  Nova decided to play it cool for now.  Maybe it was nothing.  The Rodian's snout crinkles and twitches as it begins to rapidly talk in its own language.  The ancient protocol droid propped up ina junk-filled corner translates to basic in a mechanical, monotone voice.  "Please excuse me.  There was a minor paperwork error I am trying to clear up.  This will only take a moment."  Nova watches him fuss with his datapad without seeming to do anything, waiting for him to request a "fee."

Garlen and Jendu are pushing an old pallet carrier down a grungy hallway back to the ship.  One of the repulsors is on the fritz, sometimes creating a sudden drag that caused them to bump into the handle several times.  A good kick would fix it for a short time.  One time Garlen kicked the damned thing so hard it almost shot out of their grip.  At least this was the last load and they could get off this miserable little planet.  As they make the last turn to get to their ship, they spot a human and a trandoshan in Port security uniforms blocking their path.  Both look like good candidates for a Twi'Lek dance hall, big, mean, and ugly.

Tiktuk is in the cockpit of the old light freighter they were given for the mission.  Some of the sensors had been acting up so she decided now was a good time to disassemble one of the units and rewire it.  She was bored.  The other guy was still down in his bunk with a raging case of space herpes.  So she had grown quite bored and now one of the sensor panels was in pieces.  As she was working diligently to put it back together, another sensor board started blinking another alert.  She looked up to see whatever it could be and her eyes grew large...

Noticing the Roidan stall, Rahullu not beeing one for subtelities looks at Nova and says directed to the rodian. As he does he make a threatening gesture with his massive fist

Tiktuk's now huge eyes looked at the blinking security panel. She hoped the largeness of her eyes was from surprise not some sort of permanent physical deformation. She hopped over to the sensor panel and tried to actually read it to see what it was trying to convey and made a note to install a vocabulator in all the ships read out displays. That way the bloody things could just talk like any sensible Droid. yes she had a dream a huge dream to turn the ship into the largest flying droid she had ever seen. She did not have the parts yet but she would work on that. [3d6] = 14 Knowledge Read the sensors She then flipped on the comm relays and in Jawa trade spoke into the com. (Jawa Trade is an Easy Language) "Eehg veep doogi doogi wabna wabna zoom zoom"
(Translation: Hey Guys, Problem at The Ship!).

She Then turned on the external cams so she could keep an eye on the people outside and closed it up nice and tight till the crew got back. Then with one eye on the Holofeed of the outside she put the sensor panel back together in the harmonious way. [5d6] = 22 Repairing the sensor panel

"I have a bad feeling about this." Nova said to herself, under her breath.

Though she had worked her way out of many a dangerous situation before, this was taking just a shade too long... and the spaceport officer seemed nervous now. To make matters worse, one of her crew had grown ill. Still, she half-smiled at the Rodian as Rahullu started rumbling – the beginnings of his unique brand of "wookiee diplomacy."

"Easy, pal." Nova said to Rahullu playfully.

With the Wookiee drawing the focus of attention to his intimidating gestures, Nova took this opportunity to survey the area for anything that seemed suspicious... more suspicious than usual at least.

PERCEPTION [4d6] = 16 (Nova eyeballs her surroundings for signs of anything being amiss.)

After Nova gazed about, gleaning what she could, Tiktuk's shrill little voice piped up on her comlink....
KNOWLEDGE [2d6] = 7 (languages skill check to decipher Jawa trade speak.)

She wasn't quite sure what the Jawa was saying, but she gathered that trouble might be afoot nonetheless. Nova let her hand casually drift to her hip... and closer to her holster.

Garlen stands up from pushing the pallet and looks over at Jarlen, giving a resigned sigh.

Then when Tiktuk's voice squeaks in his comm-link earpiece he just nods. [Language [4d6] = 12]

He replies into the comm-link with his finger non-chalantly touching his earpiece to enable the mic.  "There seems to be a minor issue out here as well. You may want to close the loading ramp."

Rahullu replys to to Novas casual reaxing order"wuuh raaaaaahhgh awwgggghhh aaaaahnr aaaaahnr aaahnruh"occ:"Okay, but i dont like this at all" when the comlink beeps after hearing the little rodents reply in the comlink Rahullu quickly replyies "huurh aaaaahnr!""occ: " Affermative!"then Rahullu says to Nova but not breaking gaze with the Rodian. "Aaaaaahnr uugggh huurh uughguughhhghghghhhgh wrrhwrwwhw raaaaaahhgh" occ: "There is touble at the ship as well." Then he becomes more attentive makes sure his back is against a wall and casualy moves his hand closer to on of his throwing knifes as if to scratch himself and tires to get a feel for the place where are the exits and entrypoints, places of cover, large things that could be thrown. RAhullu focuses on scaning the perimiter and exits and entrypoints while waiting to se if his speach made an impact on the Rodian. Saying to Nova "huuguughghg uughguughhhghghghhhgh aaaaahnr huuguughghg uughguughhhghghghhhgh raaaaaahhgh uugggh huurh aarrragghuuhw"occ:"get ready, i think the shits about to hit the fan" If nothing else happens he will try to palm a knife in his big paw as he keeps lookout for anything out of the ordinary.

(Trying to spoil my surprise, Tiktuk? :p )

The correct answer was: Star Destroyer. Star Destroyer.

Tiktuk announces the last thing anyone in the mission wanted to hear, a star destroyer just entered the system. Nothing good will come of this.

The Rodian shrugs and rattles something off, which the protocol droid slowly translates. "Sorry. They arrived here shortly before you. Suspect you to be rebels or something. It was either turn you in or go down with you. You understand." He looks down at his desk when an alert dings on his com. "Ah, here they come down the hall now."

Tiktuk being a nice little jawa and a 'Loyal Citizen od the Empire' (Yeah right) actually hails the star destroyer. "Ooowanga jip jip bleez tooki Bonga bonga jeet joop baki baki nog noo!" (Translation: Mayday, Their are Pirates at the Space Port this is (Ship name here) requesting assistance!) She then continues repairing the sensor console and monitors the closing of teh loading ramp. She makes a mental note to install a pop turret with an E-web blaster when she can find one.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
