[IC] Chapter 2-3: Safe Haven
#31
Initiative [1d20+3] = 5+3 = 8
#32
Merri thinks a denizen of this realm could be useful. "Come on back over. If you are nice, we may have something for you to eat."

(finally fixed)

[1d20+4] = 16+4 = 20
#33
Shanna slides her wand back into her braids and then holds her hands out to her sides, showing that she is unarmed (Riiiight...)

"If we can speak calmly and truly with each other, there is no need for any blood to be shed."
#34
Init [1d20+1] = 1+1 = 2

Torin just sees the beautiful landscape and reacts very slowly.
#35
"Stand down everyone. we mean you no harm my friend." -[ speech = free action.]

[Readied action: Portho readies to use his poetry to Fascinate the creature if no one performs an overtly threatening action before the creatures turn (in other words I will end up going between Toot and the Grig]

Quote:Fascinate (Sp)
A bard with 3 or more ranks in a Perform skill can use his music or poetics to cause one or more creatures to become fascinated with him. Each creature to be fascinated must be within 90 feet, able to see and hear the bard, and able to pay attention to him. The bard must also be able to see the creature. The distraction of a nearby combat or other dangers prevents the ability from working. For every three levels a bard attains beyond 1st, he can target one additional creature with a single use of this ability.

To use the ability, a bard makes a Perform check. His check result is the DC for each affected creature’s Will save against the effect. If a creature’s saving throw succeeds, the bard cannot attempt to fascinate that creature again for 24 hours. If its saving throw fails, the creature sits quietly and listens to the song, taking no other actions, for as long as the bard continues to play and concentrate (up to a maximum of 1 round per bard level). While fascinated, a target takes a -4 penalty on skill checks made as reactions, such as Listen and Spot checks. Any potential threat requires the bard to make another Perform check and allows the creature a new saving throw against a DC equal to the new Perform check result.

Any obvious threat, such as someone drawing a weapon, casting a spell, or aiming a ranged weapon at the target, automatically breaks the effect. Fascinate is an enchantment (compulsion), mind-affecting ability.

[perform (oratory) [1d20+15] = 19+15 = 34 That's a DC 34 WILL save!!!]

Toot knows regular Grig are good but he did try to steal from the party.  He hoped to detain him but this 'Grig' ninjaed his way out of his grapple.  Seeing no point in pursuing such a creature, he just returns to Boo.
#37
Shanna and Merri try to comfort the creature while Toot decides to go back to Boo and wait for the world to revolve around them. Portho also talks in a befriending manner and when he can see no ill intent from any of his companions (yet) he starts reciting a poem with such a dramatic effect that the creature who's just opened his crickety mouth to reply to them just sits there, slowly shutting his mouth again.

SG, Torin, Lugar's turn! (I may have missed Lugar's init so he comes at 0...)

Hey, you little.... little one! Are your fellows here too!? Or are you alone!?

SG moves around and readies his bow, if he or his companions try to attack us he will shot.

Torin takes a javelin and readies an attack.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
