OoC thread
Well I will check my PM's when I get home to see if there is any information still in there. I don't usually erase the PM'S from real people.

I lucked out, but some of my players in my long running game on Roll20 lost their characters as well.

It might be a good idea to take a screen shot of all your characters to have as a back up in case this happens again.

@Selina Parcellus I clicked the link to your character in your signature and curiously your character sheet appeared.  Try it yourself to see if it works.  I printscreened your sheet in case it doesn't work for you.

thanks. Just noticed that. My losses from that crash weren't as bad as some others.

Well...that was pretty obvious...

With a quick, concerned glance back at Betimi and Jonath's situation, he returns his gaze to the monster and pulls another arrow, aiming for Unreth's left side, farthest from him and also away from his comrades engaging him in melee.

Longbow Attack [1d20+5] = 1+5 = 6 +2 = 8

Just a reminder, when Unreth was on the ceiling people could shoot over people's heads.  But now he's on the ground, you will take a -4 penalty for each person in your line of fire.  From Gilley's current position I was able find a line where she only shoots through the Kobold's square and targets the bottom right square of the 4 squares Unreth Occupies.  This is important because you will receive a -4 to hit instead of -8 for firing into Melee because Forge is beside him!  As I explained a long time ago, before you were playing, you can avoid the firing into melee penalties if you can target a square that is at least 10' away from someone fighting in melee.  So if Gilley shoots at Unreth's bottom right square, there is 10' distance between Forge and that square.  If Forge makes a 5' step to the east, there will be less than 10' distance and you will be firing into melee.  That's why Precise Shot is important because it eliminates this penalty.

I hope this all makes sense.  If not, just ask me a question and I will clarify.

The way I read the firing into melee rules, if the monster was large, and the part you are firing at is not threatened, it is not considered in melee. Also, the only allies between Gilley and that part of Unreth are kobold, so he's still firing over their heads.

That said, whether I get penalties is up to you.

It's been awhile since I read those rules so I will give them another look and get back to you.  [Image: smile.png]

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
