Swimming Pool! [Open everyone] + Malcolm
((Endurance: [1d100] = 16)) (Fail) (Johnny is knocked on his ass, but because his power is his voice, he can still get Shouty to calm down...hopefully. Smile ))

After searching Jack's phone, Interface says out loud and through the telepathic link, "Jack lied!  Lisa didn't say, her father hit her.  She said, her father was so mad he hit the table with is hand.  That's it.  Jack didn't misread the text either because there are a couple of messages afterward where he texts about him hitting the table.  I assume he was manipulating us, hoping we would want to help.  But he knew he had to get out of the mansion before someone possibly read his mind!  It might be also the reason why he has been talking bullshit about mind control so Aurum would avoid reading his mind."

He's then suddenly blown off his feet [Rolled a 79 but needed a Red Endurance Feat] by the chubby guys hyper breath and slammed into the side of the house.  Shaking off the shock of the teen's surprise reveal of powers, Interface was about to try to blast him with his stun gun but Blink beats him to it and knocks him on his ass.  So instead he runs around the corner of the building and then carefully makes his way onto the ice to help Aurum stand [Using Karma if needed Rolled 89. Yellow result] with one hand while firing off a stun bolt at Jack with the other. [With Karma Rolled 56. Green Result.  Excellent Stunning].

[OoC: James' father's Emotion control Duration is 57 turns or 5.7 minutes.  James' Emotion control Duration is 79 turns or 7.9 minutes.]

Both father and son suddenly become more agreeable toward Johnny [Not to the other players though] and decide the angel guy was making a lot of sense and decides to relax.  James was still concerned about Lisa but he just didn't feel like getting upset about the situations makes much sense anymore.

Trevor carries both Katrina and Sebastian through the air upon a cushion of kinetic energy.  It feels like the air was slightly buzzing all around them.  He slowly flies them over the ice and lands gently with them in the living room 10' away from Jack, 15' away from Lisa and her father, and 5' away from Saleem and Gedeon.

Katrina takes a moment to reply to Cyclops and then lowers the illusion of her image inducer to reveal her real form.  Lisa looks gives Kat a puzzled look... [to be continued on Lisa's turn.]  Sebastian readies himself to jump out in front of any energy attack that may be directed at Katrina.  He didn't know him but Jack was acting like an Ass-Cactus so he didn't want to take any chances that he might try to shut his pseudo-girlfriend up with a lightning bolt.

Meanwhile, Blink was annoyed with James messing up her clothes by knocking her on the wet ground, so she absorbs the residual energy of James' own power and blasts it back at him.  He and his father are both surprised by her attack and both are knocked on their asses. [Typical 6 damage]  James is annoyed with being knocked down but he's feeling pretty chill at the moment.

Interface was also blown off his feet but gets up and moves over to help Aurum up off the ice which he succeeds. [Wet ice has Remarkable intensity slipperiness so Interface Needed a Red result so he uses 14 karma.]  He then takes aim at Jack and blasts him with his stun gun.  [Jack uses 20 Karma to resist the attack.]  Jack feels the tingle of the stun cloud vision but he manages to shake off the attack.  Lisa looks on with growing concern...

Malcolm then picks up a couch and hurls it at Jack.  It strikes him [for I assume typical 6 damage] and the couch staggers him.  [Uses Karma to resist Slam and needed 6 pts.]  Lisa look on with growing anger...

Gedeon then takes a swing at Jack with one of her blades [Remember bladed attacks can inflict a Kill result which will require (I think) 50 karma to lower the red to a yellow to keep from Jack losing endurance.] but he just manages to dodge the attack.

Lisa finally can't take any more attacks on her boyfriend.  She screams, "STOP!!" and suddenly everyone in the vicinity of the house is frozen in place.  With only Malcolm and Graffiti as a witness, Lisa reaches out to the closest person who harmed Jack [which is Saleem] and touches him.  Both Malcolm and Graffiti can only see the slight ripple from Saleem being 'invisible' suddenly disappear.  Then suddenly Lisa and Jack vanish and time begins again, releasing everyone Lisa had frozen.

For everyone who was frozen, one moment Lisa and Jack are in the midst of a battle and in the next moment they are both gone.  You aren't sure what happened but soon you become aware of a child crying.  The sobbing seems to be coming from inside the house.  Gedeon notices the slight rippling of Saleem's camouflage is gone but then hears crying coming from her feet.  Looking down she spots the small camouflaged form of a child.

Holding onto Interface to keep from falling again, an invisible and soaking wet telepath simply sees Jack and Lisa disappear. Reaching out with her mind, she tries to sense whether they are nearby.

Aurum searches for any thoughts belonging to Lisa or Jack out to her maximum range of her telepathy.  Unfortunately they don't seem to be anywhere in range.

[OoC: Just a reminder, telepathy uses Range Column D but because Magneto wanted to limit the Professor's ability to find him, he created a special flux in the earth's magnetic field.  This flux causes a -3cs penalty to the range of Telepathy.  So while on the earth Aurum's Incredible Telepathy has a range of Good (16 areas or about 640 feet.)  If Aurum is in another dimension or in space or on another planet her range is 250 miles!]

Porsche warms up the temperature in the front lawn to well above freezing.. roughly 80 degrees F/ 27 degrees C. Enough to quickly melt the ice without burning anyone. As she does so she carefully backs into the front yard, watching the suddenly cooperative kid and his now injured father warily.

Aurum sends across the Mind Network, ~I don't sense Jack and Lisa. They're gone. Turning, she buries her face in Interface's ear, relieved that she did not have to turn against a former friend like that.

((For those just recently tuning in, the current "Mind Network" or "mindlink" consists of everyone who arrived at this location via jet, with the exception of Cyclops and Saleem (who is now a baby, it seems, but then, he always kinda was...). Others that Aurum hasn't communicated with are not actually part of the Link, instead just sharing private "thought bubbles" with her.))

Hearing Aurum's announcement, Katrina looks to Lisa's father, compassion in her fiery eyes. "I'm sorry... It seems she has made her decision, for now. Perhaps, someday, she will return... In the meantime, I can give you a phone number. When you are ready, you can call us to find answers..." She glances around for a pen and piece of paper. Writing is an interesting thing to see, on its own, with her claws, but she seems used to it, and is adept at making it mostly legible, if not exactly tidy. Once finished writing the number to Xavier's school, she places the piece of paper on the table/counter/place-she-found-it and slides it slightly closer to Lisa's father, not even thinking to offer it from her own strange claws.

"... when you're ready."

Lisa's father begins sobbing uncontrollably.  He is inconsolable about losing his daughter and can only fall to his knees and cry out for his daughter.

Jean flies in and lands on the freshly melted front lawn.  "Is everyone alright?  What happened to Saleem?  His mind seems different."

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
