Mage hand is sounding very nice right now. I know I had Lugar loot her things back in the caves...
But really we only need one person to solve the puzzle while the rest hide in the tombs. So that's only 1 spell of protection.

Very neat thinking on all fronts. Everyone seems to agree it's the runes, right? Still the puzzle needs to be solved by players together (ooc) and then we can translate your solution ic.

Murkatos can cast pfe on the volunteer (Lugar?) And he knows how to use Merri's trinket so that's also an option if you know the command word.

That's noise in the crude drawing. The runes are equally smooth and have same curves, sizes, they are completely level with each other etc. It's just to get you an idea how they look like.

UMD, two rolls.
1. DC20 to use wand
2. DC25 to activate "blindly" (that is, guessing the somatic or verbal component needed to activate the wand). If you fail by 10+ there's a mishap.
