The First Mission - (Chapter 1)
Aaron just raised an eyebrow ever so slightly in response to Nolan's mental admonishment. There was a line between caution and paranoia and Nolan seemed to be happily pole-vaulting right over that motherfucker. Maybe that was norm for spy-guys. But obviously he wasn't about to start arguing with a superior officer.

Aaron closed his eyes and drudged up a memory from the past. Alright Cord, time for a little blast from the past. What was the name of that girl who kept trying to feed you mud pies at the orphanage and what was her hair color? The girl's name was Bridget and she was a redheaded girl with a little ponytail. She had a bit of a crush on Cord and constantly tried to feed him her "home cooking", which usually consisted of a dirt patty and whatever random assortment of twigs and leaves she could find. And the occasional earthworm for that extra flavor kick.
Cord worked his mouth as he looked around, taking in everyone in the room, before thinking over the question he had just been asked.

Insight
Nolan simply nodded his quiet approval.

Perfectly random memory that no one but the real Cord would know. Now he gets it. These kids are quick to adapt, I'll probably never need warning again. Probably chewing on it, thinking I'm overreacting but he's never seen the layers upon layers of espionage on both sides.
Viego sets the man down, removing his gag and waits.
Though he was slower to recognize Cord, the Master Sergeant did indeed remember the baby-faced kid from a decade before, but he remained silent for the time being as Brand had been given an order from the LT. So instead of speaking, he folded his arms across his chest and waited for an answer like the others did.
After working his jaw for a few moments, and taking in the faces of the other men he hadn't yet seen, recognizing finally the faces he knew from early in his youth.

Looking over at Aaron, Khayman, Marcus, and Viego, recognition awakening in his face as he processed Aaron's question, and taking a few slow breaths before answering.

Damn, it's good to see some familiar faces, he finally said before turning to face Aaron.

You mean Bridget the red-haired midget, and her leaf and worm filled homemade mud-pies, he answered and shuddered slightly at the thought of the time she actually cried when he wouldn't eat her "lovingly cooked" food, so he had actually taken a small bite and thrown up at the worm wriggling in his mouth.  I can still taste that horrid shit when she cried and I took a bite to get her to stop.  I'm just glad she didn't see me throw up after.
A rare tinge of sadness washed across Aaron's face for a brief moment. She was a nice kid, wasn't she...? The melancholy was quickly replaced with a small grin though. Glad your memory's sharp, Cord. Would have been a little awkward if you couldn't remember. Aaron gave Nolan a thumbs up. A+ on the pop quiz sir.
"You truly don't understand how thankful I am to hear that."

"We're already working with our hands tied behind our back transporting a prisoner would be a nightmare."

He quickly scans the team and his eyes settle on Viego.
"Your dossier says you speak Draconic?", it was a rhetorical question. Nolan already knew the answer.

"Go ahad, touch the chain, and say the Draconic word for Release. If it works it will attend to you and you will be the proud new owner of a magical chain. Keep it handy, we might need it. It was designed to bind dragons, so who better to have it than our own dragon."

He glances at Khayman, guaging the Sergeant's response.
Viego perks up at that. "You got it Boss." he says.

He looks down over the chain and cautiously touches it before he says the words in Draconic for release. "kutol"  There is a lot more bass in his voice when he says the word, it feels like it is coming from deep within him.
---Everyone---

The Magical chain moves like silver thread and releases Cord. With a flourishing twirl the chain slips through the air and coils around Viegos hand as though it were a trained pet.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
