The First Mission - (Chapter 1)
Marcus lets the information absorb into his mind and then he puts it away to focus on the moment.  He looks up at the creature in front of him. Knowing what the thing was now.  He knew the others would recover soon so he address this Ancient Evil knowing it's test was passed. "So you've shown us what we are and now … we know what you are. You knew full well that we are your enemies. Knew we were made … to destroy those like you."  He shook his head, "Why not kill us now when we are at our weakest. Stop the threat before we become a real one?"

Naraloth smiles, "My kind were the first ones. Age among us has become irrelevant. Death, is not something we can experience. We only grow … more and more Insane. Any semblance of Order is fading as my brothers and sisters are stirring in their madness.  While I am not by any means benevolent, I am at least still sane with a desire for order.  Not only do I have that larger problem, but I have found myself on a world filled with lesser enemies."

He smirks, "As you can see, I can't destroy or subjugate them all. I am going to need help."

"Your help to be precise."  He leans in toward Marcus never loosing his smirk. "We are enemies, make no mistake. But in this case, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. And once we have scoured this world clear of those that would cause us all great harm. If we have not come to see eye to eye by then, We can settle things between ourselves if your all still inclined."
Viego heard the thing respond to Marcus, and he strained and struggled to turn to face it. It took almost all his energy to do so, and he found himself exhausted with the effort. It was like moving through pure stone or something. When he was facing the thing he stared at it and slowly he spoke. "Do you count your brethren those corrupted with chaos as your foes?" Viegos voice was deeper and it startled him as it rummbled out of him. I am a dragon he thought and that truth not only seemed to click into place, but to free him some how.
Oh, I think I'll still be inclined, Khayman thought, his eyes burning holes through the being before him. So, now you'll leave, releasing this township from your control, and our coalition forces as well?

The man smiles at Khayman, "I always keep my word."  He looks up at Viego before ending his gaze on Marcus.  "Anything less lends to chaos."  With that, Naraloth laughed and gestured toward the town hall. "You will find two of your kin inside. One is sleeping, I think, and the other is tied up in the closet. Both work for your masters, both were …almost as interesting as the five of you.  I would have thought them aberrations had all of you not arrived.  But it seems the strength of men has not entirely fled them."

"Well - the town and it's people are yours. Good day gentlemen. I am certain we will speak again." He waved his hand above his head in an odd circular motion with streams of shadows trailing about his fingers and quite simply - vanished.
Marcus let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding and put his hands on his knees.  He shook his head, "Fuuucking hell."

He looked over at Aaron. He was okay, just knocked out.

He looked over at Sarge and the LT. Both were standing at least.

Viego however, holy shit. "You alright big guy?" Marcus chuckled, "At least now we know why you loved flying so much!"
Nolan doesn't mention his use of magic.  If the team wasn't going too mention it, neither was he

"We need to wait and regroup before we head into the town hall. At least until Aaron is on his feet"
---Nolan and Nolan---

Nolan checks Aaron to see if he is still breathing. And it's easy enough to tell the man is alive and relatively unharmed.

As if on que, when the shadow man vanishes, Aaron opens his eyes and jerks awake suddenly.
Shaking his head to try and clear his thoughts, he glanced to Viego, So many things make more sense now, he muttered, then added, Can you resume your human appearance?

Then looking to Marcus and Brand, he went said, I already know you two are more than merely human, he then turned his gaze to the LT, Well sir? What's your deal? Seems Viego and I are the type of individuals the hierarchy of the coalition is likely to murder if they find out what we are, what the fuck are you?
Viego listened to the to the others, and he smiled at Marcus. It was so odd to be looking down at him. "I mean I always wanted a bit of a growth spurt but... this is a little crazy." When Sarge mentioned returning to human form. Viego frowned for a moment. He hadn't thought of it he focused on it for a moment and realized he could in fact return to his human form. He concentrated and felt his form shift and shrink. It compressed really and felt odd yet natural all at the same time. He found himself once again human, although just to see if he could he made himself a few inches taller.

Viego cleared his throat, and said slowly keeping an eye on Sarge "I mean none of us are 'normal' Sarge, at least that is what I learned from that whole experience, Lt. included. But also since they have been studying us for so long, I am pretty sure they know I am at least ... well not human. Which explains a lot of things as I reflect on it. Why I love to fly. Why the emperor has been cold to me compared to others" Here he looks at Marcus pointedly.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
