The First Mission - (Chapter 1)
Viego holds his action wanting to see what Aaron had up his sleeve.
Barking out a laugh, he couldn't help it as he off handedly gestured to Arron, the floor is yours Brand, I don't see any reason trying to continue this fight.

The thing smiles and lowers it's hand to slide them into his pockets. "Very well, we can continue our discussion.  Lets start with what we would like to accomplish with our fascinating encounter, instead of me killing all of you of course. Which, I might add, would sadly be a waste. I see quite a lot of potential in your little group. Like I said, no mortals I have meet thus far in this age, seem to have such strength for ones so young."
Remaining where he was, Khayman waiting for Brand to push forward with his idea. The Master Sergeant knew they were all fucked if this creature decided to waste them and considered his options. Death was always a possibility and he'd come to terms with it, for himself at any rate, but he would be damned if Marcus, Brand, or Veigo were going to be taken out if he could distract this creature long enough for them to get away. So, while he waited, he plotted.
Yeah, you could say we're...built different. Aaron seemed to digest some thoughts for a moment. He glanced at his superiors, Khayman and Randall, before speaking again. Time for the "straight talk" angle. We were sent here to investigate the disappearance of a Coalition platoon from a couple weeks back and to secure the village. That's our mission, that's what we would like to accomplish. Aaron folded his arms. What about you? I still don't get why you'd agree to a deal with Tolkeen when you seem to have enough power to outright subjugate them. At the very least, mages have to be more interesting test subjects than some backwoods villagers.
Marcus takes a few steps back from the strange being so as to not make it feel threatened. Whatever his brother was getting at, he didn't want to fuck it up by making this thing hostile again.

"I measured the capabilities of the magical nation before they were even aware of my presence.  Like most magical wielders they believed they could control something they were not fully knowledge of and it gave me the opportunity to learn what I needed from them. If I want to influence them at some point in the future, it wont be that difficult. Besides, there is a lot about this new Earth that remains unknown to me. And I have learned that Only a fool makes assumptions without experimentation and investigation. " The creature smiled at Aaron.

"With that said, I'll give you this for free. I have already taken stock of your mage enemies to the north. Like all mages, They are only dangerous to a point.  It's their horde of dragon allies that would prove a bit more challenging. A handful of dragons wouldn't even give me pause, but a city full of them? Well, it's better to error on the side of caution in that regard." He looks over the group for a moment.

"As to this village, I wanted to see what the baseline human was capable of.  Humans are quite a bit more sturdy these days than they used to be. Did you know that?  Back when they first started to figure out language, the brain worms would have killed them instantly.  Now even a farmer can withstand them and thrive to be honest." He seemed to ponder for a moment, "That was a bit surprising. Not as surprising as meeting all of you of course, but surprising."

(DM - Everyone with Perception … roll it.)
Marcus listens carefully as the things casually tells them there is a city of actual fucking dragons to the north.

Perception vs 48%: 1d100 = 15
That sure was a lot of talking but seeing as how the five of them were still breathing, Aaron's ploy of allowing the villain his monologue seemed to be panning out just fine for the moment.

Perception 47%: 1d100 50
Viego was doing all he could to remain focused and calm. He wasn't sure why he was all worked up, but it was very hard to focus on anything other than his rage for some reason.

Perception 41%:1d100 = 89

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
