Bones and Ashes
#41
Cutter pulls one of his last two healing potions from his belt pouch and downs it, then feels all the wounds on his body heal. Once healed he holds his cupped hand to his ear and says. Sounds like they are calling to us in Goblin. The elf slowly advances to the first opening he comes to on his left. In the beam of his searching light tube he sees, a body laying on a stone alter as a much more advanced looking ghoul stands facing the alter chanting.

Benji ventured his way deeper into the caverns, listening to the chanting and snorted dismissively. He calling for a butt-whuppin more like. Undeads usually not keen for conversations. He rummaged through his magic bag and pulled out a torch and matchstick. Well, some ghosties like to talk and they's nice enough. The kobold struck the match on his scaled arm and ignited the torch, bringing some much needed brightness to the dank warrens. Once that was done, he grabbed one of his anti-plague potions and chugged it down.

(OOC: Lighting a torch and drinking an antiplague potion [+2 Fort vs Disease for 24 hours])

Robsen moves behind Cutter and Benji, covering them with his bow.

Eloric dusts himself off, not because he was really dirty, but this was a fairly filthy place. Not that he wasn't used to crypts and nasty shit in all forms, but spiders and other creepy crawlies often like to find themselves in places he would rather they not be.  Keeping his vision focused in the dim light and not having overly much to add to the conversation, he followed the others, using his senses to take note of the presence of any potentially hostile magic.

Merika'arme moves up beside cutter, and glares at the backside of the ghoul. "Probably shouldn't let it finish whatever it is doing. There is no way it didn't hear us earlier." The lizardfolk monk flexes his claws and moves muscles to unclench them from the previous activity. He glances at the elf and shrugs, "Charge it?"

Okay Merika, so here's the plan I'm going to try to slip in silently behind him it should take me less then 10 seconds to get into position. Cutter hands the monk his flash light, Count to 10 and come in the room, if he sees me he'll attack and you can come rushing in. With that said cutter slips away into the dark, slowly moving down the tunnel into flanking position.

Hearing Cutter's plan Robsen whispers, "As soon as you signal the attack, I will launch three arrows his way, that should drop him quickly and relatively quietly!". Robsen then readies his bow watching for the signal.

Cutter owned a potion and then crept forward to peer into a cave entrance ahead to the left, from where the sound of the chanting was. A large flat topped boulder protrudes from the floor in an indentation in the southwest corner of this roughly circular cave, its sides smeared with symbols drawn in blood, and its top supporting a large bundle wrapped in a filthy shroud. Three exits lead from the chamber, but unlike the two; the one Cutter peered in and another to the south allowing access from the larger room the group was in: The third to the Northwest has been barricaded mostly shut with timbers and slabs of drift wood. On its knees in front of the flat boulder ...praying...it appears is a Goblin Ghoul in leather armor adorned with animal bones, a wand of a human rib with a bird skull on its end tucked in a belt.

Chip tugged on Robsens collar and pointed in the direction Cutter was heading.

Eloric after rubbing his hands across his clothing moved a few steps in watching Cutter keeping his psi shield up.

Cade moved up next to Cutter, and motioned for Aqila to come next to him. He examined her wounds and knew he would need 10 minutes of meditation to be able to heal her again.

Robsen nodded to Chip and moved up behind Cutter, Looking into the darkness of the room, barely seeing the praying Ghoul

Benji moved and then pulled a torch out lighting it. He was preparing to get one of the anti-plague potions out. His rallying anthem completed its playing and then stopped.

Khaymen moved behind Cutter looking over his shoulder.

Merika moved up as well and whispered to those present and idea of charging it and Cutter said just then he wanted to sneak up on it first and took a step forward. Then the praying stopped and the Ghoul stood spinning pulling the wand out. pointing it at Cutter and uttering the a phrase in Necril. Horrible fear gripped the elf and he spun and pushed past his friends heading for the exit as fast as he could. Chip jumped to Cutters shoulder as he ran past. Cutter felt the urge to run abate as he reached the base of the ladder put in place by Benji

The Ceiling height within the warren is 6' and treated as difficult terrain (2x movement and a -2 to attack) for those over 6 feet. It is total darkness within the warrens; except in the tunnel you are advancing down as the sunlight outside shows down the tunnel mouth. Cutter has a make-shift 'flashlight' that provides for dim light. All enemies within 20' (40' for Lowlight) of Cutter/Benji are considered 'concealed', needing a flat check of DC 5 to be able to attack them unless you have Darkvision.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
